    This is where I'm at. Trump has eroded moral and ethical behavior, and even the standards for how we view actual criminal conduct. We can see it all across the political spectrum, so much so that people now justify it because Trump is so corrupt. The bar is gone. There's no telling what politicians, or even general public/private sector CEOs, will try to do. Anyone that has voted Trump has zero legitimate grounds to complain about any of it and I think we see that even in this thread. No MAGA is here trying to dispute what Biden did because they know Trump has and will do much more for his own personal gain.

    As a parent, yeah, I'd want to pardon my son, but if I respect the rule of law, then I don't know how you justify it. Biden definitely tried and makes a compelling case, but on the flip side, you're also legitimizing the Trump claims that the DOJ abused power to go after him for his crimes. In my eyes, they're both guilty of the crimes they were tried for and received a fair trail. Watching wealthy white men get away with these things just further exaggerates the ineptitude of our justice system.

    It's like the felons can't vote law that exists in most states, fuck that law if we're going to have a felon as president. What a hypocrisy. Let every person over 18 who is a citizen vote.
    It's a hopeless situation...

    I don't think any charges were warranted. The charges that stuck were all they could find. The IRS would have taken care of the unfiled returns at some point anyway. So in this regard I agree with the pardon.

    As far as the blanket pardon...my guess is that one of the first "investigations" opened by the newly installed trump wing of the DOJ would be against Hunter. For no other reason than to just flex against Biden and give magats a means to yammer on and on about the "Biden crime family."

    And they'll still yammer about the pardon at the same time that Musk uses his influence to benefit himself and other billionaires and the magats will be clueless as usual.

    thats just it. he was investigated by fuckstick doj in 2018. and subsequently paid what was owed.

    thats just it. he was found out through audit, paid what he owed. before all this shit apoened or was even investigated by the house and subsequently by the delaware us atty no special counsel

    he did. We all know and acknowledge that. He always hoped that Hunter would be dealt with fairly. Coming into this new admin, he obviously is concerned that they won’t treat him fairly, and there’s every logical resson to believe he’s right. Trump has openly stated he is going on a revenge tour, and with the perception that Biden weaponized the DOJ against him and his allies, there was every readon to believe Trump will seek revenge on Biden and family/allies.

    Plenty of people get the IRS fine and still face charges. Happens all the time. Paying back what you stole from the government doesn't erase the crime. 
    Now I don't think he deserved hard prison time. But pardoning him before even the sentence was handed down after stating he would not pardon him is definitely a bad look. He avoided taxes, turned in a fraud tax return and lied to buy a gun. How exactly was Hunter being treated unfairly by being charged for things he admitted to doing? Because he said "sorry" and wrote a book about it its unfair he's now charged?

    because the charges came AFTER he had already dealt with it in the case of the taxes...the gun charge was all they could find and it was pretty lame if you ask me. They just had to find something...ironic that the pro gun party charged him with that.
