This song has Groove, and that Vitalogy edge to it! It is one of the best... "Get the fuck outa my face"... songs, ever! The song "No Way" gives me the same type of feeling, but this one is RAW!
I love the line... "all that's sacred comes from youth". There are still lines I don't understand fully, maybe personal to Ed or something... "I still remember, why don't you?", obviously about the past, maybe a child hood friend/enemy?
Anyway, I love it... like all the rest!

Saturday Night Live version
Great song, the first time I heard it on that night a couple of days after Kirt killed himself, was blown away by Eddis's emotion as he screamed THIS IS not for you!

"With no power, nothing to do. I still remember. Why don't you?" I hated the way society treated me when I was a teenager . . . with no respect . . . like I didn't have a brain in my head . . . EXPECTING me to fuck up . . . going to high school was like being in prison . . . and I was one of the "good kids"! This song reminds me of all that bullshit . . . makes me angry . . . and not in a good way. Hmmm. I guess I still have some "issues" with that stuff.

I think the line refers to his friends who are getting old..."I still remember, why dont you..." As in he still remembers what its like to be a powerless teenager and how other people forget...i understand totally, but i cant really explain it, i hope i came close.

This makes me think of the leeches (industry folk?) that came out of the woodwork as PJ gained fame and recognition.......
Such a powerful song...I'm surprised it didn't get more responses the first time around......
