Use of Oceans/Water imagery in songs..

So many of Ed's lyrics reflect his passion for the waves.. so lets start a thread that highlights every lyric he's sung with the use of this imagery. Not including the song 'Oceans' as that's too easy:)

I'll start with the new song 'Man of the Hour'

    but seriously, i was thinking about the same thing for a long time now... riot act seems to have the most references...

    Wash my love... - Wash. using the water as a symbol of rebirth and cleansing...

    Out of bed and he dreams in the shower. She's standing naked and apologizing.
    Reaches for her till his mind becomes blood hot. Woken up to be burned burned again.
    - Alone. Again with the imagry of showers, and how fucking good taking a hot ass shower truely feels, until you burn yourself...

    Like a cloud dropping rain I'm discarding all thought.- Push me pull me. water is used as a metaphor to all the thoughts that we undergo but never truely think through fully...

    Follow the ageless tide.- yeah i know this is stones song but it still has a water ocean reference


    Whalesong- whales live in water, but Anna Nicole Smith is the exception to the rule...

    So I'll dive in!

    plus, there's the obvious 'big wave'... :D

    truth be told, I love the use of water imagery in their songs cause I'm kind of a water girl myself... :D it makes me think happy thoughts... :o
