The traffic down from Brisbane was horrendous and the storm was a major inconvenience but damn did the boys make up for it. Haven't seen them since the 2009 tour and must say they are still so much on point. McCready is an absolute beast. Got a banger of a set list as well. Looking forward to heading down to Melbourne on the weekend.

And yep Eddie did mention that he didn't think they had played GTG before (although noted this is the second time they have played it).
  • For those who were there last night, how big was the golden circle are?
I'm too old and grumpy these days to line up  and stand along the rail all day.
I was thinking of arriving a little later and stand back abit if the area is only  40 or so meters from the stage.

I would guess it would have gone back around 50m from the stage. It didn't look to be completely full either so you would likely be around 40m from the stage. Assuming Melbourne and Sydney will be similar.

Thank you, John for the set list & notes.

The Eli and Gus Bell dedication for Got to Give was a reference to the two characters, Eli and Gus Bell from the book, Boy Swallows Universe by Trent Dalton. He’s a massive PJ fan (he has thanked Eddie in two of his books) and he was at the show yesterday.

    Thanks mate! Perfect 👌
  • Is it still only Boston 2 which got the album Corduroy bridge, or has he been doing it since?
  • I couldn't make it. Especially after I missed out on the Ten Club tickets. I hope the bootleg comes out.

Great night. Breath definitely a highlight. Here's hoping for a stormless rest of tour!

We white rabbited the storms away, Aussie style!

Loved hearing the first chorus of "Save it for Later".

Loved Jeff playing "Man of the Hour" with Ed.

Loved seeing more of Josh rocking out.

Glad the moon with a circle n rainbow came out with the stars now and then.

Loved the two male dancers in front of me, my 10C companion who helped travel me in n out of there safely while sleep depped, and the smiley girl who sang "Black"'s do do do do
    Do do do
    all up in my face.

    Love Ed, too

I got there at 10.45am to line up. Great experience meeting a bunch of fellow Pearl Jam fans - absolutely brilliant people. Unfortunately the stadium peeps stuffed things up a bit, compounded by the weather, which meant people were able to get ahead of us during the process to get on the field, but ended up second from front.

I hadn't lined up before and it was well worth it. But I could have got there at 3pm and only been 1-3 rows back, which would have been pretty much the same experience. Except I wouldn't have spent as much time with those half a dozen brilliant people in line.

So, in short, I would say... if you've never done it - do it. It sounds like you have, so I don't think you'll regret getting there later - you'll still get a really good spot.
Why do I love Pearl Jam? The answer is here

One of the things I very much enjoyed for these first three shows in New Zealand and Australia was the beautiful scenery footage that I happened to catch a glance of now and then. I was very grateful for the wonderful shots of the land that I have the privilege to visit.

Ed made a statement of how the lifeguards had kept them out of the water the day of Gold Coast. He said at least he hadmore energy for that night's performance.

I hope they've had a chance to catch some waves since then! I wanna see some ocean skills!

Had the best night ever.  Thank you Pearl Jam.  I wish I was going to other shows this tour.  Please DO NOT wait another 11 years to tour Australia again.

Has anyone seen any youtube links of the whole Gold Coast show?  There's a guy who recorded the whole Melbourne 2 and Sydney 2 shows but he wasn't at the GC show unfortunately.
