I could probably list several examples to counter the cynical apathy, but ask a kid whose dad got killed in Iraq if it matters who wins.Get_Right said:
What skin is that? Do you really think that what happens in Washington impacts your daily life? If your are poor then yes. If you are rich then yes. If in the middle then nothing changes. No matter who wins. I vote as an exercise of democracy, not because I think one candidate is really going to make a difference in my life. That is why I have no skin in the game. It really will not affect my life one way or another. Read Federalist Paper No. 10. The government is run by factions, and I am not in a faction. Scary how accurate that is.Johnny Abruzzo said:

Apathetic no, cynical yes. And does it really matter to that kid? Will he get more benefits under one or the other? Will one or the other prevent his dad from going there in the first place? Not sure it really matters. Again, I do not think it matters to my daily life, and that is why I am cynical.Go Beavers said:

I have a few friends that are vets and did tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. I actually have volunteered for veteran services although it has been many years since I did so. I might do it again, I think my kids could learn something from that experience. My respect and admiration for our vets is completely different from my political views. There is a big gap between the decisions made by the executive branch and boots on the ground. Unfortunately.0 -
