Well the Joe Charboneau, Brook Jacoby, Rick Manning years were tough. So good for you to become a fan then. I didn't have a choice.MayDay10 said:
Joe charbonneau was before my conscious time, but apparently when I was like 4, I poked my head in the dugout when he was in Buffalo for an exhibition game and asked him "what's going on here".
The team i fell in love with (lol) were the brook Jacoby, pat tabler, Cory Snyder, joe Carter, Chris bando, Scott bailes , Tom candiotti, Steve farr Indians.Post edited by MayDay10 on0 -

Carter was infamously on the cover of SI before the 87 season i believe. We were predicted to win the East and lost 101 instead. It was really depressing.MayDay10 said:mrussel1 said:

Today marks the first time in MLB history there were 4 separate 2-out game-tying or go-ahead HR in the 8th inning or later in the same game, regular season or postseason.

Im surprised Cleveland has put up this much of a fight. They had a bunch of hits/chances in game 2 and couldnt capitalize. Took game 3 with some late fireworks. Still not convinced they have enough runs in them to take 3 more games, but good show so far.0

Correct me if I'm wrong but have any of the Mets/Dodgers games been close. I think all of the wins of been "blowouts".

The problem really isn't the run production. It's the starters not eating enough quality innings, taxing the pen which is the strength. I don't think tonight is going to be any better. When we lost Bieber and then Tristin, I thought we'd be cooked by late May. The whole season was a surprise.0 -

Yeah, that's exactly it. No starting pitching at all other than boydmrussel1 said:

And then last night Bibee did what we needed and the bats didn't.MayDay10 said:

The Phillies won the World Series in 2022? Or you mean destined not to win?Johnny Abruzzo said:Seems like the Mets are the team of destiny. On that 2022 Phillies kind of run.0 -

Yup.
Overall though, they put up a bigger fight than I expected to the Yankees. With a few more timely hits, or with Giancarlo out of the lineup, Cleveland could have taken 4 of those games.
Future looks decent. Need some starting pitching to develop (obviously not signing or trading for any names). Maybe Mckenzie can get back to form?0 -

If Clase was as good as Mariano as he was advertised. You guys would be going to the WS.MayDay10 said:mrussel1 said:

            I don't think that matters.
He didn't play games 1 and 2, game 3 they won anyway, game 4 he got the loss, but also that rocchio error was big, and i think he was the 7th pitcher, and in game 5 he didn't allow a run.
So maybe he could have extended game 4 another inning for Cleveland not to score and either Soto, judge, or Stanton to hit an hr against someone else.
