Yeah, live does this one some serious justice. I just honestly remember the first time I heard it I had to play it over and over and over and I kept asking myself, "This is PJ!?!" LOL! Dude the Matt Cameron funk files... they are looooose as a goooose when it comes to YOU ARE. Looove every second of it. Not only do I love the groove, but the words are soooo beauitful too.

Again, great song all around! Makes people...get down.

The guitar part Stone does all throughout the song...WOW! Isn't his guitar hooked up to the drum machine or something? That sound makes it funky!!! And YES Kaddi, Jeff does know how to funk it too!;)

it's nice to see how this song affects other like it does me, it gets me so...sooooo....ummmmm. frisky? LOL the words are great too, i quote the line "you are a tower of strength to me" to my man sometimes.

i liked it on the album but hearing it live just blew me away, it is definitely more funkified and the fact it's such a painfully sexy song by these musicians i adore, oh momma *fanning self*

i just saw my sweetheart online so i'm even more, um, worked up hahaha

hell yeah! seeing stoney do the electric slide at the shoreline show, oh man, it was worth seeing that song live just for THAT! haha and the way they do the lighting too. the music just swells and the bassline and those guitars and ed just repeating "you are, you are" - god it got my hips all swaying and my body rocking and mmmm....

wait am i talkin about the song? sorry i got a little distracted there haha

definitely the most sexy PJ song to date. if they do anything hotter than that on the next album i may very well explode hahahah help help has a similar effect yet not as dramatic as "you are" does heheh

oh wow vedhead, what a fabulous review!! i am so happy that you were able to go and have such a great seat to boot! that show will be forever etched in my mind because during porch, when ed went to the right side of the stage i ran to the railing and he grabbed my hand and looked me in the eyes....sweet god i still get shivers! it was so cool, didn't say a word, i hope he was able to see all the appreciation i've gathered over the past 10 years in my eyes.

and that show proved yet again how much stone IS DA MAN! wooooooo plaid boy get down with yo funkay self!!

oh god, they were eyes you could drown in, so beautiful and intense!

ahem, oh yes, back to the song hahaha it was amazing that night, as was the whole show. thumbing my way made me cry, i don't know why it never struck me like that before but i think it just opened up all these emotions inside and i couldn't keep it in. i love how their music can touch me like that.

i'm off to bed now, i feel very loved and warm fuzzy feelin' and hearing "you are" before retiring to bed was a nice way to end the evening! have a goodnite!! cheers to fellow shoreline attendees and stone's inner funk!!
