I was listening to Lightning Bolt this morning and I was reminded that I think "Swallowed Whole" is up there with "Force of Nature" as an underappreciated and/or forgotten gem. Great rhythm and great guitar solo.

    That was one of my favorites off LB. I always thought My Father's Son was underrated as well.

    Swallowed Whole was usually about the last song I would listen to off of LB before struggling to finish the album. Thought it was great on the album, but only ok live.
    It's a hopeless situation...

    The low key chorus is exactly like a Bic Runga song-I want to start singing "Say it now, say it now" whenever I hear it. It's a good tune and fun to play on guitar. Saw it live in Amsterdam and it sounded good to me.

    I thought the same thing just the other day. I haven't listened to the album in a minute,and revisited it.
