and not a fucking second longer."I'll do whatever the song dictates - if it doesn't need a real lead, then I won't do one. But if it does, then I'll fuckin' go off." - Mike
"Japan is awesome; the fans there knew all the words to all the songs...at least phonetically." - Stone
"I know this song so well, I can smoke a cigarette, have a drink, brush my teeth, take a shit, and mow the lawn while singing it. But I'll only be doing a couple of those things during this version." - EV0 -

Isn't this a duplicate post? I could have sworn I saw this thread and replied to it earlier today in a different forum..... (~ponders~)0

i understood it to be a biblical reference. The 3 days between death and reserection...You think I've got my eyes closed?0

I believe it is a biblical reference as well about death and resurection. I remember the band being questioned if it was about Kurt Cobain's death due to the amount of days his body was dead before found. Vitalogy was released around the time of his death. I personally do not believe it is about that, but that was brought up.".....this land is mine, this land is free
i'll do what i want, but irresponsibly
it's evolution baby...."0 -
I agree 3 days = birth = resurrection. Isn't it funny how many biblical references exist in PJ lyrics considering Ed has said he doesn't believe in God? And for all we know the three days could have some personal reference to Ed that we know nothing about.0

Artists do that often so threads like this will be started, when they themselves are the only ones that know the true meaning of the song.".....this land is mine, this land is free
i'll do what i want, but irresponsibly
it's evolution baby...."0 -

ed doesn't believe in god? i find that hard to believe. god is mentioned in numerous songs, especially on yield. he might not believe in god in the conventional way of thinking but he seems to believe in a higher power....caught a bolt of lightning, cursed the day he let it go...0 -

Yeah...you got me. I posted it on The Porch, then I realized it should really be posted here. I figured I'd just let the Porch thread drop, and this one would prolly stay around awhile. It worked..........................................................................0 -
