  • I finally got Tremor Christ at the United Center back in September so let's see if lightning will strike twice:

Red Mosquito - No Code was the first album I bought right when it was released and RM is my favorite song. All these years later it still momentarily takes me back to being in high school and listening to it in my room.

And if the band is feeling generous:
Sometimes & Who You Are - Similar feelings as Red Mosquito
Oceans - Played at my wedding
Olympic Platinum - Always loved it as a goof and this is an Olympic year so why not.

I Got Shit is my favorite PJ song of all time. I know some argue it technically isn't PJ since Neil plays on it and Jeff isn't on bass.

I am really hoping to hear the entire album in my five show stretch (Noblesville/Wrigley x 2, Ohana x 2) so I'll be bummed if I don't get Got to Give, Won't Tell and Setting Sun

So night 1 Wrigley is the day of my 27th birthday and the Wrigley shows are the only 2 shows I chose to go to this year and they will be my 7th and 8th shows ever.

While "Immortality" would be fitting on this night, there are a few I'd like to hear if we could get the chance.

All of my hopes, or "requests" in this case involve older songs i missed out on because, well, I wasn't born yet. I'll break them up by how probable they might be though:

    PROBABLE:

I've seen 6 shows and never gotten "Once," which I find crazy because I feel like that one would have been a given at this point. I know nothing is guaranteed, they've played it 5 times this year, so I'm hoping it pops out on one of the nights. It was played on last years tour in Chicago on Night 2 of the United Center, but was not played over the 2 nights at Wrigley in 2018... Not sure how this effects Eddies decision making on setlists, but i'm holding out hope.

     https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E09qw1-bREY

    HOPEFUL:

"Deep" is another one I need to be in the complete Ten club. I know this one is becoming rarer and rarer, having only been played one time this year. I still think Ed kills it on this song, even though he conserves his voice during some of the more demanding parts. I think it's one of the easier ones to sing off of Ten. Deep was also played last year in Chicago on Night 2 at the United Center, so it might be more out of the realm of possibility if Ed counts this as a special song. They've played it once this year in Seattle, maybe it gets whipped out during one of these nights?

    STRETCH:

    1. I'd love to get me a live version of "Whipping" under my belt. I know this one is another one thats rarely played, and hasn't been played this year at all actually. The last time it was played was Austin N2 last year, so maybe its just a matter of time before they bring it back out again? I'm hoping Wrigley feels like the right place and time to do that. Obviously Ed feels comfortable taking a stab at it if they did it last year, so unless something drastically changed with Ed this passed time he got sick, I don't see why they can't take a shot at it. Whipping has not been played in Chicago since 2009 N2 at the United Center... I hope Ed sees that in his setlist history! Heres the last time they played it. They sounded really good! So good in fact im surprised they haven't brought it out this year yet:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RMQnTNX5np0

    2. "Dissident" has been noticeably absent from the last 2 years of touring, having last been played on 9/18/2022 in St. Louis. I know there has been talk in recent years of the band dropping songs that were too taxing on Ed vocally, but honestly I wouldn't mind Ed sticking the mic out to the crowd for them to sing the high parts in that song that might trouble him. I know this isn't everyones cup of tea, but I'd really love to hear this one off my favorite album Vs. before it might possibly be retired forever. The last time Dissident was performed in Chicago was 15 years ago in 2009 on Night 1 at the United Center. They didn't even sound terrible on one of the last times they performed it:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oF3YTJ-f4k0

MASSIVE "OUT OF MY MIND" STRETCH:

"Blood." This one hasn't been dusted off since Fenway 2018, and I think for good reason. Based on all the things i've mentioned already having to do with Ed's voice, I think thats the main reason why this one hasn't appeared on a setlist in quite some time. The last time it was played in Chicago was Wrigley N2 in 2016, so maybe theres a chance Ed sees that and decides to give it a go. They could even do it spoken word acoustically for all I care, i just want to see it. I seriously doubt this one will get played on either night, but you never know and thats what I love about this band. Heres the last time they played it. Ed sounded rough, even then:

I just realized all of these songs are under 4 minutes, so they could fill out a normal setlist quite nicely.

I'd also take Release to open either night! Finger crossed
