Reportedly up for sale on the dark web for $500,000. In case you needed or wanted another reason for their monopoly to be dissolved. If you do not have a freeze on your credit with the 3 credit bureaus, now might be a good time to do that and beware of scams that may become of this.

Not trying to defend Ticketmaster, but ransomware attacks are a common, everyday occurrence at this point for companies of literally all sizes. And it’s only going to get worse. If you’ve been to a hospital in the last 5 years, your information is almost guaranteed to be hacked / held ransom at some point, for example.2010: Cleveland

It's the $25 "convenience" fee that TM charges you for them to send your info to the hackers that sucks 😉1993: 11/22 Little Rock

I changed my password too, but what is payment methods going to do? They've already been hacked, so if they got the payment info, they've already got the payment info. Deleting it after the fact won't do much

I changed my password and my user email to my other email address. Too many security breaches are happening with so many companies these days. It’s hard to keep up.0

I've been in so many breaches that have issued free credit protection that I'd be set for life if they ran them consecutively. Unfortunately, they all run concurrently, so a new breach every 18 months is almost beneficialGlowGirl said:I changed my password and my user email to my other email address. . SSNs should be issued with lifelong credit protection at this point. Just last night someone checked into a hotel using my Holiday Inn points. They were not smart enough to change the email address in my account so I got the reservation confirmation. It had their name on it as an added guest. They already checked in. I called Holiday Inn. They gave me my points back, canceled the reservation and were going to call the police. Luckily, no credit card information was in my account and they didn’t use any credit cards of mine to check in since they used my points. I changed my password and moved the account to my other email. I am glad this person was not smart enough to change the email once in my account so I wouldn’t get the confirmation - either that or they thought they would be checked out before I read it. So stupid. But feels like such a violation.spankyMP said:

I have a Chase Amazon card and have had some charges that were scams. Every single time I have disputed anything, they have reimbursed me. Highly recommend them as a last line of defense.
Ticketmaster needs MFA immediately.0 -

I’ve had three checking accounts opened in my name. It all started with a breach of TIMS and someone adding a line to my phone and receiving a free tablet. The woman pretending to be related to me had them send all confirmations in Spanish so I had no idea what was going on. I was able to stop the whole process within 24 hours and Verizon knew they made a mistake so they were a tremendous help. You just have to be diligent, which is exhausting, but necessary.0
