No PJ Album on Apple’s Top 100?
Really surprised there isn't going to be one PJ album on Apple’s Top 100 list, which determined by artists and experts, supposedly celebrates the best albums that shaped the world we live in today…
RATM and NIN are on there. The Strokes. Arctic Monkeys. Oasis. Beastie Boys. 2 Radiohead albums. Alanis.

They are up to the top 10. No PJ.

I was having fun with the list until the first Billie Eilish album came in at 30. I enjoyed the album when it came out, and still do at times, but that being at 30 is INSANITY. Lost most credibility after that for me.2010: Cleveland

lists, the scourge of humanity, ultimately I am more comforted when Pearl Jam is omitted from these types of things. I was just looking back at an old issue of MOJO magazine from 2003 recently. The top 100 Hall of Fame, as voted by the readers, no Pearl Jam. It makes me happy. Badge of honor.

I don’t like Pearl Jam’s chances, sadly. This is a real shame but whatever, I suppose. I do appreciate people wanting to ensure the band’s music is put out there and passed on to younger generations, however.ontheroad said:Really surprised there isn't going to be one PJ album on Apple’s Top 100 list, which determined by artists and experts, supposedly celebrates the best albums that shaped the world we live in today…

Nirvana’s Nevermind is a lock for the Top 10. Not sure if this makes it better or worse!

It’s a fun list. Does what it’s supposed to do and get fans talking. I think their hot take inclusions are pretty safe IMO.Nbd if PJ isn’t on there.
very curious about the top 10 though. They’ve gone through 90 and only 1 artist has been represented twice! (Radiohead).0 -
Between my two favorite bands, PJ and Radiohead, there are two entries. So it all evens out for me lolTim Simmons said:It’s a fun list. Does what it’s supposed to do and get fans talking. I think their hot take inclusions are pretty safe IMO.Nbd if PJ isn’t on there.

Are you sure Backspacer isn't no.7?0

I’m trying to think what the top 10 will be. This isn’t in order, but I could see it being this way.
1. Purple Rain
2. Thriller
3. Sgt. Peppers
4. Nevermind
5. Live at the Apollo
6. To Pimp A Butterfly*
7. IV
8. Blonde*
9. Lemonade*
10. Folklore**New classic dominant artist type shit. Worth including but should be lower, but whatever, Stan’s gotta eat too.Post edited by Tim Simmons on0 -
They exist to get their listener's attention. They know their audience and it isn't you. It's harmless.
No one under 30 is talking about that list if Pet Sounds and Rubber Soul are dominating it.0 -
Sounds familiar…SVRDhand13 said:

Good predictions but I feel like Abbey Road has taken over Pepper as The Beatles “best” album.Tim Simmons said:I’m trying to think what the top 10 will be. This isn’t in order, but I could see it being this way.

Thought this was the 100 most listened to albums or decided by some clever streaming algorithm...?
Is it a jury of people at Apple deciding this in a conference room? Like any other top 100 listPost edited by Spiritual_Chaos on"Mostly I think that people react sensitively because they know you’ve got a point"0 -
They asked artists and critics to weigh in too.0

Solid Top 10.0

So The Beatles, Stevie, Prince, Beyoncé and Radiohead are the only acts represented twice on the list.Post edited by Tim Simmons on0

No. 56 is my favourite album of all time, for consistency and being great all the way through (The Cure - Disintegration).0

My favorite Beatles album is Abbey Road, but my favorite Beatles album would be Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band if it had included "Strawberry Fields Forever" and "Penny Lane" as the Beatles originally intended.I gather speed from you fucking with me.0

Probably true with respect to Pet Sounds, but the Beatles have never gone out of fashion.cp3iverson said:They exist to get their listener's attention. They know their audience and it isn't you. It's harmless.

Rolling Stone had Ten in the 160s so no surprise Apple Music didn't have it in its top 100. You can argue about the other questionable ones, but I'm not too shocked by the exclusion.Chicago, Aug 24, 2009
