U2, with a mix of The Cure with the outro. My favorite song on this album

The lyrics to this song are so mystical and intriguing.  Especially knowing that it was based on a dream, and then further abstracted from the interpolation.  Almost like a dream within a dream?  Lol.  Such a strong track.  Great lyrics and beautiful instrumental.  The guitars sound so cool, and the driving bass.

Definitely getting the "Where the Streets Have No Name" vibes!!

This is my favorite album on DM right now, I think!

I like how it starts with "floating" and ends with "a soul", the vision wrapped quite nicely.

Love this track. Had me at the first listen and has just get better. Probably should’ve been a single, maybe it might still!? Never thought PJ would write a song like this ever. Could be a mainstream hit!

I keep playing this one, waiting for it to 'click' but I've just not connected with it in the same way that I have with all the others (well, except for just one other....)

I really enjoy the verses which have a strong Neil Young feel in the way they're played (almost like a back-to-front 'Down By The River') and the lyrics are great but I think the chorus has too strong pop sensibilities for me and from the first listen I thought it had a Coldplay vibe to it which I've struggled to shift since.....I'm going to persevere though and it's great that it's a solid tune for so many others!

I was in the same boat initially,  and you said it exactly how I was thinking, and that was some of the pop stylings weren't my taste.  This has since changed and I've accepted how it's all put together.  The thing that helped was keep spinning, and you will see and feel the connection between all tracks.  It's like a sonic movie.

I can't believe there are this many posts and no one has brought up the ending of "All I Want Is You." That's what I heard from the guitar part on the very first listen of "Won't Tell" in the movie theater.
I gather speed from you fucking with me.

I do too, which if the Cure and U2 influenced this track then I’m not surprised. This is a single ready radio hit every day of the week.

There's also a little Kelly Clarkson "Breakaway" inflection in the chorus -- the "can you heal, can you feel" part.

    Fantastic song!
Belongs to the epic three-song-middle-part of DM with Upper Hand and Waiting For Stevie.
    Perfection!

    The distance to the end
Is closer now than it's ever been
    Road we traveled far
All the lights and sights we saw
No room left on the pages
We filled 'em up and painted some
Though the book, it may never be read
Oh, by anyone, oh, anyone but me

    Fuck.me these are heavy lyrics.

i wish i wish i wish i wish, i guess it never stops
