    yeah i agree. it takes years to break in a new guitar. if i can get one with a little relicing it feels like half of the work is done for me.

    I was on the fence and while I don’t see relics as corny, I feel like my skill level should match the finish, and it clearly would not in this case. So wanting a single coil to go with my Les Paul and P-90 semi hollow Gretsch, I went with a “used” Jimi Hendrix MIM for $750. It even still had the plastic film on everything. I’ve never played a strat before, but man does it feel good in the hands and how it rests against you. Sounds great too

    I started this post around a year ago & it has finally touched down in Australia. People were gawking at it big time when I picked it up at the store so it now time to finish off the post with my second guitar of the week.     For anyone looking for one of these, Tone Shop Guitars has 6 of them in.  The store is in Dallas..(Addison, Southlake, Fort Worth)  they have listings on reverb also

    They had 4 of them in the fort worth store alone a month ago, by the time I got a chance to go up there and play one they were gone!

    it must be all the smaller shops are getting them before sweetwater and guitar center get them.  Everyone seems to love them...I cant wait to play one!

    If anyone lives near Greenville, SC or Charlotte, I've got an extra that I would sell for my original cost.  Not that it matters since already a relic, but would have only played a couple times.

    Sweetwater got several of them in stock going back to friday last week. i was trying to choose between 4 of them. they didn't sell out right away. i went to buy one monday and they were all sold out. they have 3 in stock right now. i'm hoping for a couple to show up at my local guitar center so i can play one because i don't like buying guitars without playing them first. especially when they have to ship.  i'm trying to convince myself i need one, haha.

    The good news is that you shouldn't have any problems selling it if you took the chance and didn't like it. They still seem to be a pretty hot commodity.

    I don't know what brand he uses but they are 10's on mine. I had Ernie Ball slinky's on my first Mexican & they were very nice

    Can't you buy and return if you don't like it?
    yes. have 30 days. but for sweetwater if i do not like it i have to pay to ship it back, so i would only be out something like $28. if it is a qc issue covered by the 2 year warranty they pay to ship it back and repair it or replace it. can't go wrong either way.

    if i don't like it it is basically a $28 test drive, which i think is more than fair for something i have been wanting for the better part of a year.
