Amen! That Rolling Stone Article that described out Andrew came into being with PJ is really something. There were a lot of really great coincidences that came together that made this all come to fruition. Really cool how life works like that sometimes.bnewman19 said:
Well said. DM is a really strong album well done to PJ and all those involved in its creation.VINNY GOOMBA said:I am on my 3rd official listen of Dark Matter and I know this one is going to be an all time classic, and am comfortable saying that it's their best since Yield. I think a major X factor here was that a couple of PJ super fans had a seat at the table for crafting this album and providing direction. Seriously cheers to Josh Klinghoffer and especially Andrew Watt! Big props to Eddie for seeing the potential in this young man, for connecting with him, and bringing him into the fold. Both of these guys, really. What welcome additions! Cheers to our favorite band, we're so lucky to have these guys providing the soundtrack to our lives, and to do it at this level after all of these years is amazing. You guys really did it with this one. I love all of your work, but this one really is "Something Special" I really haven't felt this strongly about anything I've listened to in literally decades, and have gotten emotional a number of times, which is such a rarity for me in listening to new music anymore.  They hype is real.  Dark Matter is just solid through and through, so well crafted with so much thought paid to melody, harmony, structure, and a full tribute to their greatest influences.  To the band, if you're reading, you really all just brought it individually and as a collective unit.  Be proud!  We are proud of you, and thank you, thank you, thank you for all of it!  See you at MSG 2, no complaints here if you played this whole record top to bottom!  But hey, do what you want, you always have and it has always paid off!  Over the moon right now I really haven't felt this strongly about anything I've listened to in literally decades, and have gotten emotional a number of times, which is such a rarity for me in listening to new music anymore. Over the moon right now

they should. unfortunately in today's music "industry", this isn't even the best album released Today. Taking nothing from TS.VINNY GOOMBA said:
Thank you! So happy so many people are enjoying this. In ear headphones listening have been superior to my Jeep, which has great sound.wiscojam said:

You know, there has been so much hype, I was starting to be afraid of a letdown. That has NOT been the case. I can't get over how great it is, and how quickly all of the songs have grown on me to the point of loving them. It's every part of every song. To me, every PJ song has a highlight, even in the rare case I don't like the song overall. Each one of the parts of each one of these songs jockeys for position of being the best part of the song. There's no laboring through a song to get to the "good part". They're all good parts. Amazing.SVRDhand13 said:This record exceeded all expectations... by a long shot!
I am going out on a limb here and I think they're going to get a Grammy for this. Probably not album of the year, but best Rock album.0

Cheers to everyone that worked on putting this fine art together. Magic was really captured by the way the album was recorded, and it's a very strong collection of songs that fit so nicely together. There's a clear vibe that flows throughout each song, and it's cool how it all ties together. As a band, instrumentally I already have high expectations for Pearl Jam, but yet somehow, here my expectations exceeded. Bravo to all, well done!I'm spinning, oh-oh-oh I'm spinning0

If Beck can win album of the year, you never know. Morning Phase was phenomenal though so it was well deserved.wiscojam said:

Well said! It's pretty amazing that a good chunk of this was made while Ed was already putting out a ton of creative output with Earthling. The fact that there was so much more in reserve for a Pearl Jam album is pretty awesome. And that the other guys basically dropped everything, showed up, didn't bring their instruments or their pedals-- full faith that everything they would need to get this under way would be there waiting for them. They clearly have a lot of faith in Eddie. He delivered, Andrew delivered, they all delivered. These songs are going to kick so much ass live too.MikeDigs said:Cheers to everyone that worked on putting this fine art together.
