Great Idea, Make the Forum Better --Proposal for Song/Set Requests

Don't mind me.. Ive been on this board since 98? I would like to put it out there for all to commiserate on. I think I have an idea to make the forum better. So inspired by Dark Matter and the renewed energy. How about all the Play this, or Play that goes in a separate Thread, and then The Porch maybe can catch a bit of a warm breeze. 

No disrespect to all of the genuine heartfelt requests, but can we transform that noble communication and on occasion request answered by the band into a proper thread!! I'll hang up and listen!!

    And here I was feeling like I was getting the full fan experience by requesting something, feeling gutted and grateful for tickets, and betting on tour dates!

    Who knew it wasn't positive for you? Next up: fan-fan ticket upgrading experience, to get on Jeff's side 😉

    Edit: If it makes you feel any better, late 90s bloomer, I decided not to bump my -  please pay "Force of Nature" on May 4th thread! - love mid 90er

    It would be cool to have an ignore thread option. I know there is an ignore user button but for threads that are not to your taste that clutter up the main page it would be nice to have an option to just hide them.

    OP…I love the idea!  Like you said no disrespect to the requests but we all want them to play certain songs that are incredibly meaningful to us. If we all posted them all in the porch before every show we were going to it would be ridiculous. Have it’s own space for it.

    Thanks @Indifference and if we in include @Br@BrainofBGA it would be cool to let everyone continue to voice their wishes for the band to consider in a thread called… Take a Breath ?!

    As one of the requesters, I love this idea.  Sorry to clutter up The Porch.  A designated section for requests would be really helpful for everyone.

    @MikeDigs and I will very humbly say to @Kat and @Sea if the band were to peruse the board (who knows! I think they have each hinted they have taken a peek from time to time). Wouldn't it make it easier for them to consider some of the requests if they weren't just splotched in the Porch? We could organize it like by show etc in an its own thread so if Ed or any band member was like anything going on with any of our jamily that we can accommodate? Its right there!

    @demetrios just like there is The Porch, or Given to Fly, it would be for fans to post about upcoming shows and put out their wishes for dedications and celebrations

    But, uh, I don't need my name mentioned, or have a sob/happy story, just wanna hear a romantic song that makes me swoon and fall in love with this band again. I mean, "is it so wrong to think that love can keep us safe"?

    I’ve always thought that about song requests and ticket threads. Anything to do with live shows should be in Given To Fly.

    @BrainofBGA and @demetrios perhaps a Breath of Fresh Air? For the Porch? And, a more eloquent way for the band and us to communicate. Some of the dedications and things Ed with band support choose are really an amazing part of the live show. Going to many shows over many years, the Ed stories and connections are sometimes as memorable as the best versions of the most wanted live songs!
