Good god^hit it. Saw him once too. Stage packed with awesomeness. Not much recollection of the show. Paramount theater nyc. I'd pay more attention if I saw him now. Maybe someday, not too soon i hope.

Back in the day 1979 as a dj to make a few bucks at house and dorm parties this song of pure funk was the one that got EVERYONE running to floor to dance. It’s the first time I heard the word “twerk”, maybe George misspoke but it’s there at the 1:29 mark. At the 7:00 minute mark is probably one the best guitar solos ever in funk lasting almost 3 minutes. This 15 minute classic I’d play and I’d hit the floor.

FUNKADELIC  Just) Knee Deep featuring the funk master George Clinton

My first concert ever.....The Capital Centre Landover MD 1978. It was sold out with Isley Brothers, Teddy Pendergrass, I think Stephanie Mills and somebody else.

When the Brothers came on the the entire arena with wild. I recall taking it all in. When this song came on the spot lights shined on a disco ball as Ernie Isley hit the high note on this song.....

    Voyage To Atlantis

Oh shit, I've seen RUSH there more than any other arena of the 50 that I saw. The Cap Centre was open to every possible sporting event. For years it was the premier arena for just about everything in the DC Metro area.  Long gone now but I've seen many, many  events there even saw Sugar Ray Leonard win a fight there.👍 Oh that Isley Brothers ticket was just $10 through the Montgomery County recreation Department who took us to the Cap Centre and back home. Two weeks later following a crush I had on the depth head Elizabeth we saw KISS. I saw my first ever pair of boobs, it was then I knew I had to see more rock concerts.

Small world. I grew up in Montgomery County. Lived there until I moved to NYC. Most of my concerts in my teens and early 20s were at the Cap Centre, Merriweather, RFK, and various smaller venues in DC (9:30 Club, the Bayou, DC Space, Black Cat, etc.). We were probably at some of these places at the same time.

Oh my goodness,  I've been to ALL those venues. Just through in Constitution Hall, Warner Theatre etc. I went to the old or original 9:30 Club and many times to the new 9:30 Club. It was RFK for stadium shows, and then it went to Fed Ex Field.
I think it was the Vapor Trails tour Rush stopped playing the Capital Centre. I think by then they had torn down the CC then built the Verizon Center in DC which is now  Capital One Arena. Yes for sure we been to a concert or two around the DC Metro area.  Hone is now South Florida.
