Really? I think Step Brothers and Due Date were 10 times funnier. Maybe I was just expecting too much from a comedy genius.

I like Family Guy, but I never watch it, so I think for hardcore FG fans this would have been a lot of the same. I was going in pretty close to being a Seth McFarlane virgin, so to me this was over the top awesome.

wait, people actually went to see a seth macfarlane film, not expecting a seth macfarlane film? :?

the guy has one style and one style only and probably has about $621 million in his pocket because of it. it is his bread and butter, why would you go into ted expecting something other than the crude, offensive, vulgar humor that you see in family guy?

hands down the funniest movie i have seen in quite sometime. sure (spoiler), the bear napping scene dragged at points, but overall, i think the length of the movie was appropriate and i probably wouldn't have cut anything.

the "love" story didn't diminish. there had to be SOME story other than a bear and a 35 year old ripping bong hits for an hour and forty minutes, right? :? ;)

Well look at James L. Brooks. He's producer/director for The Simpsons and he did As Good As It Gets...certainly nothing close to what The Simpsons are. Just saying, it can be done. I love Family Guy and I love that humor, but if you're gonna do a major motion picture, try to branch out a bit. We all know he can do crude, raunchy, taboo comedy...he doesn't have to prove that. He really has nothing to prove, honestly....he's a successful writer. But at the same time, I think he has way more to showcase than just Family Guy/American Dad/Cleveland Show.

I liked Ted, I didn't love it. Maybe it's one of those that I have to watch a couple of times. I didn't like Anchorman when I first saw it, and now it's one of my favorite movies. I do think it was better than The Hangover :P

    exactly....love story killed it
although when Ted was getting ripped in half I found myself getting all anxious :?

No, but he's in that same category...edgy, animated, adult-themed comedy. MacFarlane has said, more than once, how much The Simpsons influenced him.

Meh, regardless...he's really cute

the way i've always summed up the big three animated series:

    the simpsons = best STORY
    family guy = funniest
    futurama = smartest

I would say South Park is the smartest.

The Simpsons hasn't been good in a decade and Family Guy has fallen off the last 3-4 years.

I fucking LOVED Alf. I still have my talking Alf doll....he doesn't talk anymore though. :( :x

I'm such a sucker for talking animals in movies....I'm really looking forward to this. I'm not very familiar with Seth McFarlane's humour since I don't watch much tv so hopefully it will still be funny for me.

it's out on Peacock now. Only saw the first episode though. It was pretty funny. If you liked the movies you'd probably like the tv show.

Wonder if they'll mention the grunge era since this takes place in '93. So far the closest I saw was the one girl had a few music posters hanging in her bedroon wall (Nirvana, Sonic Youth, Pumpkins).

The Halloween episode was probably my favorite with Ted as an Ewok and their cousin made a great looking Catwoman. There was only one episode i didn't really care for at all.
