I just watched Dan Campbell at the podium.  I kinda feel badly for him.  He made stupid decisions but he's a real dude.

I started yelling at the TV after he had the personal foul and my wife asked me why I was so upset at a Detroit Lion.  I told her that dude deserves to have the shit beat out of him.  The Lions can do better than him.

the chiefs did the same thing (once) but survived it. their one score game wouldn’t have been so close, had they taken a FG.

The "go" decision is based on all teams, all data,  all games, etc. If Campbell was able to run the play 72 times he could probably achieve the result he wanted with a confidence level that drove the "go" decision,  but you only get one shot.  And they lost that shot twice when it mattered.
