Madness. This is what ‘Murica has become under POOTWH.

The specter of violence also came up during the court argument itself. One of the three judges on the panel, Florence Y. Pan, asked, “Could a president order SEAL Team 6 to assassinate a political rival?” D. John Sauer, a lawyer for Trump, said a president could be prosecuted for such an action only if Congress first impeached and convicted him.
No, this is good news.  Biden could order the assassination of Trump tomorrow.  Then the House will impeach him, but if the Senate fails to convict (controlled by D), he can't be prosecuted.  Win Win!
I think the Dems have slightly more moral backbone than Repubs and enough would vote to convict. Lose-lose.
Nope.  Just following the Constitution and the natural end to the Trump legal argument.
So, both sides are the same?
I just want to see a hit
    You and Rodger Dodger Stoned.

The only thing about this article I think is poorly worded is the word ‘trap’, that’s bound to be cited by Trump as some sort of grievance against him. This was an exploration of a hypothetical used to prove or disprove a premise that’s being suggested should be broadly applied (presidential immunity). It’s fully within the right of a judge, and not accompanied by any sort of desire for revenge or inherent bias. If their argument was the danger to the nation of criminally charging Trump (if found guilty), this showed the greater danger from not charging him if he were to be found guilty.

Can I interrupt the subject at hand for just a moment to make an observation about tribalism? I do not make it a habit to consume G. Conway's writings, but the language and stage setting he uses reads like something from the pen of a young feminist:

The faces gazing down from the walls were mostly male, with a couple of exceptions. Near the front on the left side, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, wearing a trademark jabot, had one of the better views, directly overlooking the bench, counsel table, and podium. I envied her vantage point; from her perch, I could have seen the expressions of all the players, including the defendant. I found it hard not to wonder what she would have thought of these proceedings.
No doubt she would have approved of the panel of judges who heard the case: three women, of differing backgrounds and of fine reputations, each sworn to “administer justice without respect to persons, and do equal right to the poor and the rich.”

No doubt some of this is pandering towards the readership of the Atlantic, but I think some of it is reflective of feedback loops. We see this play out on both sides. GC becomes an outward critic of Trump, despite endorsing most of his policies, says so on Twitter, and his mentions fill to the brim with grateful liberals. His brain quickly turns to a confused mush as he now repositions his belief system around how to engender more positive feedback. It's like a morphine addict with an IV and a button.

I know none of this sentiment/observations is new, but it's funny to see it out in the wild like this. GC a fan of RBG? An advocate for a diverse judiciary? Give me a break.

Regardless...tRump's attorney didn't do him any good. It was a stupid argument that he had plenty of time to prepare for.

Conway's beliefs and background are irrelevant.

    another delay tactic.

i wish he was giving his own closing arguments. he would just admit his crimes and then maybe he could face some kind of justice.

Cards on the table - I despise Trump, but this civil fraud case is stupid, and if he skates the unseriousness of it will be mixed into the larger stew of "everyone against Trump" narrative. I work in finance, including some large scale infrastructure in the past, no bank in their right mind cares a lick at what internally prepared financial statements show. Also to my knowledge he hasn't defaulted and there hasn't been a collateral shortfall (at least since the 80s bankruptcy stuff). The stuff with Stormy Daniels and this are just distractions.

Jack Smith's case, and the Georgia case are the only ones that matter.
