Knight was a god in southern IN where I grew up. My Dad was a Purdue grad but my grandparents (maternal) were huge IU/Knight fans so it rubbed off on me big time. 

I was so glad he went back to Assembly Hall a few years back and actually moved back to Bloomington where he died.

    Yes he was. He had a great run at IU. I think his firing was bullshit but it was probably time for him to retire. He wasn't getting the big recruits anymore and his style wasn't anything the new generation wanted to play.

    Man, I did think of this when I heard the news of his passing.

    RIP to a great coach, but like Wobbie said he was a world class Asshole.

    I went to all the Purdue games growing up and the Knight - Keady games were epic. He made a great villain for the rivalry.

    Yeah that was a special time in Indiana basketball history. And Keady still looks great. The rivalry just isn't quite the same now.

    Outside of Butler, the Indiana schools haven’t done anything in the last 20 years.  Maybe some good regular seasons but choke jobs in the tourney.    I know I stopped paying attention like I used to as a kid.  Also due to less interest as an adult in sports in general.

    If the NCAA tourney is the measure of success, why play a regular season?   Tourney has turned into a massive AT&T / Capital One commercial.

    We'll see what Purdue does this year. With Edey back they could go pretty far but a lot of people said that last year too.
