I held it at CME during the chicago shows in september & when i got back to Australia i put a deposit down & have to wait the same time. Playing with the Fender serial number lookup tool, it looks like they’ve been churning out a good bit more of these in October.
The original batch seemed to be around 500 guitars, but now I see serial numbers as high as 1109 with October build dates.
Mine is dated August, and I received it September 9th… so I would expect these October built ones to start showing up fairly soon.
EDIT: the one on Reverb from a few posts up has an October build date (serial # MM00985), so they’re getting them out fast once complete.

I had been learning on a Les Paul and I could sense his disappointment with it when learning Yellow Ledbetter. When I received my Mike McCready strat, he played it and was stunned saying a few times “this is the best sounding strat I’ve ever played.”He went home and worked on one of his Eric Johnson strats trying to figure out what makes the difference. I suggested the custom pickups. He thinks the neck and frets as well.He’s been playing 30+ years and has an incredible ear.0 -
