One of my favorite bootlegs. I hope this show gets the Vault treatment. But it might be another case of the bootleg being better than what the band has to put out.
I'm unsure if the band even has this.
Hi, I host a Pearl Jam Podcast. We go back to some of the classic shows in their history and break down the entire setlist front to back. From historic perspective, to performances, to setlist construction, to fan stories. We do our best to capture the magic that is their live act and help you relive those memories, or if you weren't there, maybe turn you on to a show you've never heard before.

Live On 4 Legs can be found on Apple Podcast, Spotify and any other major podcast platform. But please support our website and check out the episodes archived there. Oh, and the Concertpedia as well (for you Five Horizons and Two Feet Thick fans, we've picked up where they've left off)

I see that Hartford 2013 is up. Nice! Very solid show with many great performances. Haven’t listened just yet (just woke up!) but I’m really hoping at least one of you included that performance of “Immortality” in your top 3!!!

It’s a great Immortality that probably got a little shafted based off of all the other discussion points happening. But I’ll explain how that song skyrocketed into my favorites on that tour.

    oh yeah, here’s the episode

Hartford 2013 is a top show for me, maybe bested only by the second Seattle "home" show. It's on the list of top ten best nights of my life, for sure. The crowd was the loudest I've ever heard. Insane energy.

    +1

    Looking forward to listening.
  • Hartford 2013 really is a special show.  Easily my favorite show attended in the last 10 years and probably the best show I saw since maybe Ottawa 2005.

    oh yeah, here’s the episode

The Hartford 2013 Immortality (and the one from Oslo 2012) is, imho, the best performance of the song since at least 2006 - maybe even 2000!

BTW, considering both studio and live versions of every PJ song, I rank Immortality at #1.

Edit: Buffalo 2013 is pretty damn good, too.

I love ballpark versions of Immortality. Fenway 2016 was explosive for one. there are so many great ones in every era though. Immortality probably stands at #4 for me at the moment but has been as high as #2. Buffalo was great, no one talks about it though.

The 2016 Wrigley version that's a bonus track from Let's Play Two is a solid version, as well. I forgot about that one!

New episode for this week is Charlottesville 2013! Now, I know a lot of people LOVE this show, and I fully get why. But outside the rarities and amount of songs that were played, there is a storyline to be discussed in this one that potentially no one thinks about when talking about this show. Walking into a lion’s den here, let’s see how it goes!

So excited to listen and find out what the lion's den issue is!  I just know that 2 of my favorite epic shows, the setlist was NOT done by Ed.  Charlottesville's setlist was made by Stone. So that adds to the intrigue for me!

The other one was Hartford 2008. Another show I don't know that anyone expected great things from but we were all blown away. That setlist was Jeff, and it slayed us! So interesting that these mold-breaking setlists for several shows were done by Stone or Jeff, maybe other setlists were Mike or Matt or Boom?  Do we know of any and how were those shows?

Today’s episode is San Diego 1993 with a pretty awesome improv known around these parts as Hold Me. Hope you check it out.

We spend this episode talking about the one and only time that Ed got arrested after an altercation in the French Quarter of New Orleans. After a fan’s persistent pestering following him out of a bar, Ed spat in his face and was taken in for public drunkenness and disturbing the peace.

MLB Cy Young Award winner and good friend of Ed’s Jack McDowell joins our episode today to talk about the incident and tell a few great stories about Ed. The uncut version of that interview coming soon!

oh yeah, and we’ll do the setlist thing for 11/17/1993 as usual!

I just realized that I haven’t updated this in a few weeks to reflect the new episodes. If interested, feel free to check out Nacogdoches, Vegas Night 2 and Vancouver all from 1993. Hopefully you’re all subscribed and won’t need that reminder :)

I think you guys will enjoy this week, because I’m sure many of you were there. The last two episodes of the year will be both Chicago shows from September, kicking off with night 1 that came out today. Great stories to share from this one, which we dubbed as an instant classic.

If there was anything even near the level of show being as cold as the Ice Bowl, it was this. Temperatures almost below 40 on an April night in Alabama? You’d never would’ve guessed it.

oh, and this is the debut of One Note

Sorry, have been MIA here for a few weeks. If you want to check out some of the last few episodes (Prague 2006, Melbourne 3 2006, Columbus 2010) you can find them on our archive on any of the podcast platforms you choose to listen on. This week is Nashville 2022, I know many of you were there. So enjoy!

To celebrate the hype of the brand new single, last night we held a listening party and forum where all of us got to share our instant reaction to the song. And since there is a lot to discuss, of course we had to put it out as a podcast episode. We try to look at this from every angle possible and dissect what makes this song so good!

A new album and song are great, but the thing that makes it all worth the while is the tour to celebrate everything. We break down all of the dates and put it into context within their history, and mostly just fuel some excitement for a big year!
