    Yeah, I hate that they default to the dubbing. But once I turned that off, only one episode into this show but looking pretty good!

    my kids and wife drive me nuts with their insistence on subtitles on every show/movie we watch. If it's a really good movie, I'll watch it with subs (like Parasite), but if it's a show, nah.

    I started wearing glasses about 6 months ago. Turns out I was rocking about a 20/40 vision. Explains why I've always hated reading subtitles on shows too.
    But now that I can actually read them, I still find it distracting to have to read what they're saying and try to follow everything else too.

    wife and I were watching tv the other day. At one point, I didn't hear something, I said "did you hear that?". She said "nope. you wouldn't have to ask me if we had subtitles on". :angry:

    I mean the biggest issue of why people use subtitles is streaming has fucked up audio quality. They assume everyone has some ridiculous 5.1/7.1/7.2.2 surround sound set up. I have to go into every show on Netflix and switch to stereo instead of surround sound. And I'd say Netflix does a better job of it than the other others, but that's not saying much.

    I leave the subtitles on.   Especially if I'm just relaxing on the couch strumming the guitar and watching tv.
