Club Acts Won't Have to Fork Over Merch Money to Live Nation Anymore (msn.com)
I wonder if LN will raise ticket prices to make up for the lost merch revenue?

Willie Nelson is one of kind. Cool that he's trying to help out new artists.0

Oh man, that's great! No merch fee, $1500 for tour expenses, bonuses for crew workers. I would gladly pay a few bucks extra to see a club gig knowing that is happening. Sweet!

I had no idea Live Nation was doing that for smaller shows. I don't think we have any LiveNation/TM venues in my little city. From what I gather of bar shows, is bands keep the ticket revenue, and bars make money with a packed house selling alcohol (which I'm also told is becoming challenging because younger generations are drinking less). I didn't realize bands had to share their merch revenue too.

House of Blues is the only Boston venue listed which I thought LN booked through their partnership with Crossroads Presents. If so, there are other clubs you'd think this would apply to and, based on capacity, benefit bands who could use it most. Brighton Music Hall, Paradise, etc. HoB is 2,500.0
