I am glad it is Eddie with a band....hopefully they do some new covers!0

I want The Pretenders back on the same night as Ed, like it was originally before covid cancelled the 2020 lineup. They tried to keep the same acts for 2021, but lingering covid complications (visa restrictions or similar?) kept Pretenders from joining then, too. Now that they're back, its with the Foos, not Ed.
I was hoping Chrissie would join Ed for Brass in Pocket!!
I suppose it could still happen, but she's on a different night, and now Ed is with Earthlings...hmm...
(And The Chicks can't take the place of The Pretenders)
As for the Earthlings drummer, since Chad's not available, how about Josh Freese? He's one of my very favorite non-PJ drummers, and he's already there with Foos.
Ah, well, it will be good regardless of how they mix things up.Post edited by OfThePearl on0 -
I think you’re right about it being a Josh…but maybe the one who’s already in the Earthlings:)0

Ed has been known to join bands on all 3 days of the festival. Chances of him joining Chrissie are very good, IMHO.OfThePearl said:I want The Pretenders back on the same night as Ed, like it was originally before covid cancelled the 2020 lineup. I got an Email from OhanaFest with the venue map. At the bottom it showed the lineup and it just says Eddie Vedder for Sat night. Went to the site and the lineup says Eddie Vedder for Saturday night. Did things change since Chad is not available?0
-
I still see Eddie Vedder and Earthings on the actual schedule, both on the site and the app.

So excited about Ohana this year!
A friend of mine said that in 2018, Eddie came out to welcome everyone & sang Porch acoustic before the 1st act on Friday/Day 1.
is this a common occurrence? Definitely want to time things right this year.0 -
Very common...he pops up a lotRayncroft said:So excited about Ohana this year!

In past years, Eddie has come out and performed with numerous acts. I have seen him with Glenn Hansard, X, Liam Finn, Jack Irons, Johnny Marr and Liz Phair (She sang Betterman during Ed's set). That is just to name a few.0

Have a blast to all who are goin. I won't be making it this year. Got to be on the rail at main stage last year. I sure hope next year Ed breaks it back down to just him up there singing with a few guests he brings out for certain songs. I miss that.0

Last year after the blessing ceremony on main stage he went over to the tiki stage and played with the high school garage band for their last song. They did Mind Your Manners. The kid on the drums covered for Matt once on tour.Rayncroft said:So excited about Ohana this year!

Not last year. I never saw him on the side of the stage for other bands or anything. He was noticeably absent except when performing a song with another artist or doin his own set. It kinda bummed me out.Gern Blansten said:

So, with the VIP ya don't get to be closer to stage or meet him or go backstage or sit up above the stages in that lil area that sits between em? If I dont get that I will never buy VIP tickets.Gern Blansten said:I got VIP for one day a few years back. We were sitting in the bleachers watching people hover around the food buffet. As soon as a tray would come out it was like watching a colony of rats attack it. Then 15 minutes later another tray and the same frenzy. It was hilarious.
I never got to eat anything that was supposed to be part of the ticket.
Not complaining....it was good entertainment0 -
That's what I noticed last year too. Last time I saw him doing that was in 2019. He's been much less visible in recent years. He also hasn't been solo at the festival in years so that may be part of it.Summersas79 said:
