I am so stoked to be going to see Smashing Pumpkins in a small venue tonight. I can't believe they're playing The Ogden here in Denver. I gotta pace myself, I'm already prepared to get my drink on and it's not even noon yet.
one foot in the door
the other foot in the gutter
sweet smell that they adore
I think I'd rather smother

The sound was a little muddy but I was impressed. The crowd was bigger than I expected as well.

That happened to me in Vancouver last year.  The show was selling slow and I swear more than half the tickets were still up for sale when I looked a few days before the show.   I was pretty shocked to see a mostly full NHL/NBA sized arena full of pumpkins fans.  I didn't think I'd really see that again, it was pretty cool.  Thoroughly enjoyed my first pumpkins show in 25 years, good time was had :)

Just curious how many people are aiming to watch the stream tonight (I am, lol), or to make the rest of us jealous will be attending in person?

I will be watching tonight. I also went to zuzus on Friday to check out the Tower Records pop up. It was cool and I bought a shirt. I’m a sucker for easy merch.  I’ve been to a few of Billy’s solo shows at zuzus and I have no doubt that this will be awesome.  The price tag was just a bit too steep for me right now. Looking forward to it.

Nice!  I'm starting to think I need to make a pilgrimage from Toronto to ZuZu's, lol! I caught a couple streams from the popup and it looked like fun, lol.

haha I thought the same thing at the Vancouver show last year, he was struggling with a cold, but still seemed to be happy.   I guess like many people he mellowed with age.

Are these the shows without Jimmy/James?

EDIT: I think it is, this should be interesting.

Yes. I actually don’t expect a ton of billy. Just hoping for some really cool reworking of the strings and some visuals to go with them. The opera house is the best sounding venue in Chicago IMO.

yeah, I get the impression its mainly the orchestra and opera singers. I'm sure Billy may perform a bit, but I think its more Lyric based performances.

Why is Billy doing shows without the rest of the band before touring with the actual band?!?
