Bruce hasn't had a huge tour in six years, granted they did tour more frequently before then. Also known for his big shows.
I wouldn't compare them to Dave, it's a different style. Kudos to them for touring annually but not the same.

At this point and with the last few years I'll take any shows they want to play. Having unrealistic expectations doesn't help even if we all wish they would play more. Won't disagree on cashing in as they do a lot of that now with all the releases but that's par for the course.
This... not to mention, Bruce, at his age is an outlier, not the norm. Same for McCartney. If those guys are where you're setting the bar for people 60 & above, I think you're a little detached from reality.

Big things. No east coast shows. Philly tease. Three full months of the year after Ohana.

    Maybe?
I want so badly to believe this.
    I don’t. But I want to.
Which do we think was a bigger mistake: teasing a non-existent Philly show, or promising their email list “big things”?

They did 10 shows plus 2 festival shows in 2014. That was 9 years ago. This year they are rumoured to be doing 9 with less cities. It really is not that much different comparing the two years. Also they have opened with a band before (2013) and still played 30 plus songs. Their start time really has not changed either. They have made a conscious decision to play shorter sets unfortunately.

A series of shows sounds more appropriate than a tour.  A smattering perhaps.

Wow, place had really died down when I left this afternoon. Now I come back to 300+ new posts.
So basically, we just got additional confirmation on all the dates that we've already known about for the past month?

Is 5 cities really "Big Things", still think there's gotta be more going on.  Multiple night 2s also seems strange.  All very odd, hopefully clear soon.
COuld be special "Set Lists"  Like, playing albums from beginning to end..... or "Unplugged"?
Every show is already special. Don’t get greedy

You're trying to debate where their biggest mistake was before even knowing A) what the tour is or B ) what 'big things' they have planned.

    You're 1000% jumping the gun.

Curious to see if today is the day for tour announcement.

With Ohana going on sale tomorrow at 10am PST, it would be strange to send out at the same time imo.

Even if they waited a couple hours, you’re still talking 2pm CST on a Thursday.

If 4/20 is the public on sale, feels like the Ten Club request period would need to start before the weekend (probably Thursday) for it to make sense.

Also would be pretty limited window for Verified Fan (Thursday to Tuesday?) but with extremely limited cities, maybe less of an issue.

Agreed. Maybe there's something to most of the cities having 2 shows but it also being a short tour. Could be that they test out a new concert structure in September.

Can’t see them announcing this tour until Monday/Tuesday next week after the Ohana 10c presale ends

Yes, I think the Ohana sale gets done first and then PJ announces.
