    As expected there were more stolen bases on Opening Day this year than last.

    Major League Baseball increased the size of its bases to promote safety and to add excitement by increasing the frequency of stolen bases.

    According to Alex Fast, there were 21 stolen bases on Thursday with a 91% success rate. In 2022, Opening Day saw just five steals and a 56% success rate.

    The one rule I  saw that messes w the pitchers is the 2 throw to first rule.  After that you have a green light for 2nd.

    Someone said they expect Trea Turner to steal 70 bases.  I expect Witt, fastest player in Bball to be up there too then.

    Witt is not fastest player at this point.  A young man in AZ has that tag now.

    Still have to be concerned with a Pitch-Out?

    They'll be a lot more steals. But, some players will have to conserve their bodies as SB over time does damage to the body.

    I don't mind the pitch clock too much. Thought I would hate it, but it ain't bad. Although some of the games yesterday still went like 3 hours :lol:
