Record Store Day 2023 Release
Following the 25th anniversary of Yield, Pearl Jam’s Give Way will be released as a part of Record Store Day 2023. This gatefold double LP comes from a live performance in Melbourne, Australia on March 5th, 1998. The legendary Give Way will be released for the first time ever. The 17-track album includes live versions of “Given To Fly,” “Faithfull,” and “Do The Evolution”.

Give Way will also be available on CD, a version of which was initially intended to be given out as a promotional item with each purchase of Single Video Theory in 1998. This never saw the light of day aside from an extremely limited amount which have resurfaced over the years...until now. The title Give Way is a nod to the Australian counterpart to the Yield sign of the United States.

The Give Way Vinyl LP and CD will be available for purchase at your local indie record shop beginning Saturday, April 22nd. Look for an indie record store near you!

So this will be the „normal“ album only with a different cover?

nevermind, found the info: live in Melbourne. Sounds great

  • If this is indeed the 98 concert from Melbourne, that's another indication that they don't continue with the Vaults. This concert would have been a perfect fit for the Vault-treatment, but they decide to release it in an other way.

Good stuff. Guessing 10c will probably offer a coloured pressing.

Hard to tell. My guess is probably not. I’m guessing that dude got the Universal RSD list and those are thumbnails to use for site listings. I’m guessing one is the blown up cover for min album art images and the other is a product detail image showing it’s a record.

The band should “bootleg the bootleggers” again by straight up pressing Monkeywrench Radio broadcasts. Even if they don’t have original tapes and only FM recordings. Kinda like Neil is doing. Maybe even lift the names and images from the KTS et al. Italian bootleg images. That would be a cool series and a great way to officially release 95/96 shows if they don’t have full tapes for the Vault series.

Maybe. But seems more just  like a nod to the 25th anniversary for Yield.

Hopefully they would make the covers look better though. Unlike Neil where the bootlegs have better cover art...

Another compilation, when they should rethink and give the whole think (Easy Street) instead of a plain reissue.

Fun either way. Will be spun a lot I reckon. Will it cost 50 dollars or are they upping it to 60-70? New Year and all that.

I don't think it's a compilation. It's an actual show but not the whole set

    17 tracks.

Recorded during Pearl Jam’s Melbourne Park show on March 5, 1998 during the Australian tour in support of their 3rd (? Lol)studio album Yield, the highly sought after Give Way will be released on vinyl for the first time. The 17 track album will be a 2LP gatefold on black vinyl including live versions of “Given To Fly,” “Faithfull,” and “Do The Evolution”. The title Give Way is a nod to the Australian counterpart to the United States Yield sign.

I think it's amazing this is getting a vinyl release.  It's so legendary.   I think this is also the first official live release with Jack Irons on drums.  We've been asking for that for a while.

The only part I'm down on, is that it's an incomplete show.   Would of been gravy if they expanded it to be the whole live concert.

It also begs questions.   The Give Way CD sounds amazing.  A fair bit better than the FM bootlegs of the complete show.   This makes me thing it was sourced from soundboard.  Which begs to me to ask.   How did Best Buy get access to it without band approval, and if the band gave approval, why did they unapprove it?    The questions come up because presumably they have the master tapes to put this out on vinyl, so the source must of been epic and/or the pj camp?
