Finally got one of my band signed posters framed up. We were on the rail for this show too. Good times. Went with a tight mat on this one.

So in 06 we got a tip on where they stay in Philly. After night 1 we decided to go down around 10am with posters and see if we could meet anyone. Sure enough after about only an hour of waiting Jeff comes out with a basketball on his way to play. So we knew this could happen if we hang out. Stone came out talked for a second and got in a cab. Mike hung out with us for a long time and is as nice as everyone says. Soundcheck time started to roll around, white van pulled up. Everyone comes out and Ed waves and gives us the “1 second” sign. Goes to the van, set his things inside and the driver says something to him. He looks back at us and gets in, and waves. I’m bummed we came that close. We get to the venue for night 2, get our tickets and my buddy won the lotto and we are in row 2. After the show I’m not ready to give up, head back to the hotel. We make friends with the door man who tells us that some of them are already back and in the bar. Not Ed. About 2am white van rolls back around and put pops Ed and the gentlemen who he brought out on stage that night after being released from prison for a crime he didn’t commit. Ed laughs seeing us. Ask where we were from and talked about the show. Body guard wouldn’t let us take pics but he was happy to sign our posters. At the time I was around 20-some shows and never heard Low Light. So I asked if at the next show, DC, he could slip that in the setlist. He pulls out two packs of American Spirits, takes my marker, starts writing on the unopened pack - Low Light - and says “These should make it to DC…but don’t hate me if I forget.” Two days later, they would play Low Light in DC and we lost our minds. I never did meet Matt that day but that’s ok.

I did a quick self frame job when I got home (that was actually pretty good, mat and all) and stupidly was there until last week when my wife took it to get the treatment for my birthday. Way later that it should been but looks great!
