    My dad was a Holocaust survivor, so my views on Germany have always been pretty extreme.

    As I get older, I can appreciate the country's efforts to make up for their past.

    Wow, yeah, that's heavy on both ends.  They really have come a long way.  In Hitler's time, gays were persecuted.  Today they can marry.  A two good male friend of mine from Muenster got married earlier this year!
