    My bosses' mom was on once back in the day, his father had to drive her down to NY for it... she won a vacuum cleaner. Said his old man never stopped bitching about the taxes he had to pay against it.


    NGL... While we're on on the subject of TPIR, a big coming of age moment for pre-teen Merkin Baller was when one of Bob's beauties posed for Playboy. 

    Simpler times.

    Do you keeps hundreds in your pocket for the purpose of digging?
    He did say he got a kiss from a cross dresser, and is scared of the Samoan ladies, but don't know yet if he refused a kiss?

    I don't think so....maybe if you put pressure on people to dig like I think Bob did.

    For comedic purposes (and an homage) I think Drew Carey should do the pocket money, but only let guys dig.

    I've watched it with Drew. zero personality in the show.

    My wife knows one of Barker's "girls" (her word) from the show who told her Bob Barker was a really nice man and great to work with.  Not sure why you assume "sexist".

    Also this woman who worked with  Barker is married to a relatively well know musician, someone I can't imagine would be married to someone working with a "perv."  Sometimes out assumptions are wrong and often times what you read in tabloids is utter bullshit.

    it's not about tabloids or anything Brian (at least not to me). I know nothing of his personal life. it was the way he acted towards and interacted with the women on the show. the stuff he said. often very suggestive, sometimes outright cringy. 

    however, back then, it was considered normal. we're using today's lens for yesterday's actions.
