Good guy w/ a gun accidentally killed a 9yo while trying to defend himself.

I remain unconvinced that more guns is the best solution to America’s gun problem.
    HE’S OK, though, right?

So I guess it worked. He protected himself.

Really?  Come on man, you know arming everyone is the way to go.  Yeah, OK, some people in a situation where a mass shooting is going on will pull out their piece and freak out because they are nervous or overly excited,  or will shoot wildly because they are untrained, or don't really understand the accuracy of a .38 special across a crowded shopping mall and might knock off a few unsuspecting innocents standing in the way, but what the hell?  That's the price you gotta pay, man.  I say arm the shit out of everybody and let's see who is the last man, woman or child standing.  Let's stop being so weak about this shit and LOCK AND LOAD,baby!

He’s not ok though, the guy who held him up took $20 & his car keys from him.

Definitely things worth accidentally killing a child over

Oh, man, that stinks. If only someone else would’ve had a gun. Might’ve killed another innocent, or maybe that guy would have his $20 and car keys back.

Welcome to 'Murica, where the majority of white males aged 35-55 are scared. Manipulating the media, making false claims and being wed to the NRA to sell firearms to scared people. Greatest country in the world. Or is it dupiest?

Imagine going through life "not trusting others around you?" Maybe they meant, "the other?"

But hey, get yours now, what with members of congress actively promoting a white, Christian Nation. Or your Evangelical ID. Might come in handy.

Gunmaker’s Super Bowl stunt sheds light on marketing of ‘America’s rifle’

Sales soared in the past decade at Daniel Defense, the maker of the gun used in the Uvalde shooting, as the firm employed aggressive marketing tactics to sell AR-style rifles

Hunter described the company’s target demographic as largely White, conservative men ages 35 to 55.

That audience is in line with the typical gun owner of today, according to a closely held 2020 study conducted by the National Shooting Sports Foundation, the firearm industry’s trade association, and shared with gun manufacturers. The Post obtained a copy.

“Protection for themselves and others at and away from home is the top motivation for purchasing a firearm,” the study said of the average buyer.

The study found that a demographic it termed “Urban Defenders” — the most likely to buy guns because they “do not trust others around them” — was the fastest growing segment and bought guns at a higher rate than any other in 2020.

Daniel Defense has appealed to such anxieties in its print marketing, using the image of a man in pajamas poised with a rifle and recommending its guns “whether you’re on the battlefield … or protecting your family in the middle of the night.”

Since most of my life is spent in hockey rinks, this is basically me.

I don't trust a single person there because I'm pretty that sure every single dunderheaded one of them has a loaded weapon out in their pickup truck.

I always thought Hit Me With Your Best Shot was about pick up lines. I have always been strongly against guns and gun ownership. I did not even allow my kids to have nerf guns or shooting games as they were growing up.  My wife is Japanese and I think we all know their stance on guns. I always thought having a few Louisville sluggers and a couple of large knives (and fake samurai swords) around the house would be enough protection.  I live in an affluent suburb where violent crime does not exist, but recently I have started to think it may not be such a bad idea to have weapon in the house or even the car. Highly conflicted but violence seems to be rearing its ugly head these days. I just don't know. What is also weird is that I was taught how to shoot .22 rifles at sleep away camp when I was 11!!!

As do I, but it's not like she's bending to some leftist mob. I have to respect her decision even if nobody was calling for it. To me it's no different than if PJ decided to stop playing Dance of the Clairvoyants because "I'm in love with clairvoyants 'cuz they're out of this world" is just too damn cheesy.

you said her song was being cancelled. it is in fact, not being cancelled. misinformation/misleading.

It was in fact “canceled.” By the artist. Or does it have to be “canceled” by the right or the left to be considered “canceled” and cancel culture?

    So misleading and misinformation.

when someone says something has been cancelled, it means by society/"woke mob"/the left/the right/whathaveyou, against the wishes of that who is being cancelled.

    self cancelling isn't a thing.

now, for sane conversation, I also never attributed that song to anything acutally gun-related. I figured it was all euphemism for non-violent conflict, like most people use that phrase.

Are you the final arbiter of “cancel culture?” Did NY cancel himself from Spotify and was that a thing? Or did Joe Rogan cancel NY because of his stupid Covid comments? Or did PJ cancel themselves for the NC show or did NC cancel them because of their bathroom ban? Were either of those “a thing?” And what about Dr. Seuss? Did the estate cancel Dr. Seuss themselves or was it something else? Hard to tell with all the hubbabaloo and ruckus in the threads and elsewhere.

when someone says something has been cancelled, it means by society/"woke mob"/the left/the right/whathaveyou, against the wishes of that who is being cancelled.

    self cancelling isn't a thing.
Hard to tell with all the hubbabaloo and ruckus in the threads and elsewhere.
    it would appear so.
