Great call @Branden ....I hadn't even thought of that even though one of my treasured 45's is Skin, Brains & Guts (1982) -- plays at 33rpm's and somehow holds 9 songs on a 7 in records. I thought it was referencing the Dead Kennedy's logo:Branden said:huntersthompson said:All the pins seem to reference a band from the area--Oakland had a Grateful Dead influnce...I think the Vegas one is a reference to the Dead Kennedys (sang a cover of Viva Las Vegas as the connection)....what is the Sacramento pins call back? The Vegas one is a reference to the RENO band 7Seconds

Punk rock logo making must have been a busy industry for a brief time....

Nope, Reno. That's how I spotted it, and kinda resent them using the design for a Vegas show instead of playing up here.

That a cool bit of information that I wasn't expecting to learn on this thread! Now I have to seek out each of the pins and see if I can figure out what's what.huntersthompson said:All the pins seem to reference a band from the area--Oakland had a Grateful Dead influnce...I think the Vegas one is a reference to the Dead Kennedys (sang a cover of Viva Las Vegas as the connection)....what is the Sacramento pins call back?0 -

San Diego
LA N1
LA N2
Phoenix
Oakland N1
Oakland N2
Fresno
We know what Sac and Vegas look like and what bands are being referenced. Easy one of the remaining group is the Grateful Dead (Oakland N2)....Can we figure out the rest...?0 -
1991- Hollywood Palladium, California with Temple of the Dog, Soundgarden, and Alice in Chains -RIP Magazine Show Oct. 6th
1992- Lollapalooza, Irvine, CaliforniaNothing since then. I suck.
2016- Fenway Park, Boston - Both glorious nights
2022- Oakland Night 2
2024 Sacramento, CA0 -
I thought Oakland Night 2 might be Social Distortion0

So these pins all seem to have a local connection with the city in which the concert was being held. Social Distortion is an Orange Co band (may be one of the LA shows?).bb4packers said:I thought Oakland Night 2 might be Social Distortion
Oakland N2 is a band called Flipper
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flipper_(band)
Krist Novoselic actually played with them in the 2000's (as I have read)
So
