Hey guys, I dont have much from Music on Vinyl. Are they highly regarded for their releases? Looking at picking up AIC Dirt and Unplugged from them but wanted to know if its really quality stuff.
Thanks!
Thanks!

I have ITW, AIC Unplugged, and Warren Haynes Live at Bonnaroo and all are very good. They could use thicker stock for the covers and gatefolds, but the vinyl itself is all really well pressed and what I have sounds great.0

I have an opeth vinyl pressed by them which sounds great also have AIC unplugged it sounds amazing!0

I just picked up Rage Against the Machine S/T on white vinyl, havent had a chance to spin it. I cant find any info on a white vinyl pressing. Its #360/500 on White vinyl. I know What Records had a red vinyl edition of 500. Any knowledge?Pittsburgh, PA September 28, 2005 || Washington, DC June 22, 2008 || Barstow, VA May 13, 2010 || Seattle, WA August 10, 2018 || Dana Point, CA September 29, 2018 (EV) || Dana Point, CA September 28, 2019 (EV) || Dana Point, CA September 25, 2021 (EV) || Dana Point, CA October 1, 2021 || Dana Point, CA October 2, 2021 || Chicago, IL August 29, 2024 || Pittsburgh, PA May 16, 2025 || Pittsburgh, PA May 18, 20250

Vinyl sounds great but their "jackets" are garbage!
You think for the money and the quality of the product,
it would have better packaging.!
They Rip they Tear they are just plain terrible.
Great Vinyl make a protective jacket to match!!-Seattle,Wash-Key Arena-9/21/9 -Vancouver,B.C-Rogers Arena-12/4/13 -Vancouver,BC-Rogers Arena-5/6/24

I've been pretty happy with MOV releases. I've sent them a few request for some albums I would like to see pressed again/never pressed:
Toad the Wet Sprocket - "Fear" and "Dulcinea"
Bush - Golden State
Helmet - Betty
Local H - As Good as Dead
Cranberries - To the Faithful Departed
just requested....
Slayer - "Reign in Blood" and "South of Heaven"
Who knows, maybe they will take it for consideration... Give it a shot for some albums you would like:

My experience with MOV LPs is a bit mixed. On the down side, I've heard and read that the sourcing is a real crap shoot because it depends on what the label sends them- analog tapes, metal stampers, or digital files. But at least a lot of those digital files are high resolution and not brickwalled CDs. I will always opt for an original pressing when I can, but sometime the cost on older stuff is too much and I'll chance an MOV. So far, though not superb, they are most pretty good. If it's really important to me, I'll upgrade if and when I can. And the covers/artwork are pretty nice so if that matters (it does a fair amount to me), there is that."It's a sad and beautiful world"-Roberto Benigni0

Who's Next MOV is exceptional, the cover abysmal0

I have a Music On Vinyl pressing of Stone Temple Pilots - Tiny Music. It sounds great.

Like my TOTD. Funny I only knew hunger strike before I got it. Also grabed MLB-favorite song stardog champion-i remember recording it off the radio when it first came out! I wish I kept ny radio mixed tapes. End of old man flashback.0

I passed on into the wild many times. I wish I got it.0

I have quite a few MOV releases:
Son House - Father of the Folk Blues
Blind Melon Soup
They Might Be Giants - Flood
Stone Temple Pilots - Core, Purple, Tiny Music, No. 4, Shangri-la-dee-da
Mad Season - Above
Wolfmother - Wolfmother
Mew - And The Glass Handed Kites
Peter Gabriel - Scratch My Back And I'll Scratch Yours
Extreme - Pornograffitti, III Sides to Every Story
John Mayer - Where The Light Is (Live in Los Angeles)
Live - Throwing Copper, Secret Samadhi, The Distance to Here
Temple of the Dog - S/T
Mother Love Bone - S/T
Alice In Chains - Dirt, Jar of Flies/Sap, Unplugged
Eddie Vedder - Into The Wild
Tonic - Lemon Parade
I honestly have never been disappointed with any of them. Sure some sound better than others (All the AIC, Extreme, and STP's are as good as it gets), but I always jump on the chance to get a MOV pressing because of their great track record.Kansas City 7.03.98

My Tragically Hip Road Apples is a really great pressing0

My Into The Wild sounds like shit. Everything else in my possession from MOV is pretty well made.0

I’ve got lots of MoV REs. AIC, Therapy?, TOTD, Swervedriver, Santana, Willie Dixon, Mr. Bungle, Killing Joke, Opeth, FNM, STP, Screaming Trees, Gun Club, Tragically Hip, Velvet Revolver, Blind Melon, Jerry Cantrell, ST, Eddie Vedder, Ministry, Daniel Lanois, Type O Negative, could be others.Records using hi-res digital files can sound great on vinyl when mastered and pressed properly. Out of all those albums the only problem I’ve had with the sound quality of a MoV release is the common skip on Ministry’s Mind is a Terrible Thing to Taste. Unfortunately the image quality of the sleeves of MoV releases is generally blurry or somehow otherwise distorted.0

I’ve got into the wild, Mr Bungle, Fugees The Score. I think that’s it.
no complaints with them. Above average definitely. Not sure why I don’t have more, it’s just how it worked out as I don’t actively seek them out.
as far as reissue labels they are obviously not MOFI or AP. So that may be why I don’t have more as it’s usually OG or MOFI/AP. They seem occupy a strange in between spacePost edited by Cropduster-80 on0 -
