Yeah man the last time I've seen Sonic Youth was the "my so called tour" in 1996 in Vredenburg Utrecht, they played my favorite track "The Diamond sea" which last about 20 minutes, but still too short IMO. They are brilliant.

I know that they are in Europe at this time, because they also play at the hurricane festival in Germany, where PJ also plays.

HMM, maybe I should download some SY
  • i heard the Kings Of Leon are supporting, which sounds awesome to me, they are a really good band, one of my faves actually. Plus i think their sound tie in nicely with Pearl Jam. Watch out for the singer,Caleb, he has hell of a good set of pipes!

I'm thinking of flying from Athens to Amsterdam on the 27th and then taking the first train to Nijmegen on the 28th. I'm guessing there must be one at 7 a.m or smth? So if i arrive at the venue at bout 10 a.m will i get a good chance at the front rows? (I don't have a 10c ticket though)

p.s. i read the whole of the thread, you guys are so helpful with each other, haven't seen this in forums in a looong time.
I'll ride the wave where it takes me...
  • I have an extra ticket to the London Pearl Jam show, and I was hoping someone would like to swap me for a ticket for PJ in Nijmegen. My fan club # is in the 5 digets.................................Anyone interested? Does anyone know if this show is all General admission? Is there seating in the front?
  • Butterfly Thoughts,

I dont think the park opens till like 5pm does it?
  • Yeah, i know, the ticket says the doors open at 5 pm, but still, what time should people start getting in line in order to get to the front? I'm thinking 10 a.m , but maybe i'm being paranoid?
I don't know cause this will be my first GA Pearl Jam show, and i don't know how to go about it. Judging for example from my experience from U2 shows, if you want to be in the front, you got to get in the queue as early as 7 in the morning. Of course, being a U2 die-hard fan is a paranoid thing in its own right, but that's music love for you...

Honestly, without a 10C ticket you should really save yourself some time in the queue. Last tour there were 200-300 10C tickets per show. For these larger park shows I have a feeling there will be a great deal more than that. Your odds of getting to the very front no matter how early you get there are pretty slim.

  • yeah i kinda feared that... if only i had subscribed to 10c on time... I don't mind being in the 3rd or 4rth row, even the 10th row. I know i can't be on the first row. I just would hate making all the journey from Greece to end up standing at the bottom end of the pitch.
So what time are the rest of the non-10c ticket holders going?

You're still willing hiring a rental car?

My plan is to get to Nijmegen. Sleep in the car or with people in Arnhem I know and going to Werchter really early the next morning.

I know the way to Werchter, since I've been there once...so...this is gonna be a fun June month...seeing The Who and PJ twice.

Parel if you want to you can rest your head at our place in Eindhoven. We'll be going to Werchter the next day! However, we might wanna stay late in Nijmegen and see if we can catch a glimpse of the guys...wishful thinking!
    But you're welcome...

p.s. A student of mine told me her dad has VIP tickets to the show in Nijmegen...WTF???!!! I am so gonna give his kid a bad mark if he doesnt help me backstage...hehe...LOL...;) ;)
