Hi folks,

Has anyone heard about this? I would like to hear your thoughts on this and whether you think it will be any good. Do you think it's a little disrespectful considering Brandon died on the set of this film? Not only that but that soundtrack is one of my favourite soundtracks, I wonder what the new one will be like?

    Yeah, me neither.
All the stupid sequels they have made so far have been pretty lame. :?

Not sure if that's a good deal, but I'd be willing to check it out. But there has to be a good story to make an all-new movie out of... Maybe mine the series of books or something.

:lol::lol::lol::lol: Well, rumour has it that they are going to cast Bradley Cooper from The Hangover???? Don't quote me on that, it's just what I have heard. Bit of an odd choice but I guess it's better than this guy!

Yeah it's definately one of my favs, oddly enough I came across some old Comics of The Crow today while I was cleaning, spooky! :? I forgot I had them, it's Episodes 1, 2, 3 and 4. Should probably keep them in a safer place than in the coffee table!

I loved the original movie. I was in 9th grade, and it was just instantly one of my favorite things - Michael Wincott devouring the scenery, Tony Todd being all smooth-but-menacing, Gideon playing Gideon, Ernie Hudson being the Ernie Hudson-est Ernie Hudson to ever Ernie Hudson (seriously, I love him in this, but I suspect he's just playing it pretty natural). I binged the soundtrack, I sought out the graphic novel and red it cover to cover numerous times. I had the movie poster, and t-shirts based on the graphic novel.

That said, I would not mind seeing a new take on the material. I think they could still be respectful to Brandon Lee (and, honestly, to the late Michael Massee), and take it in a different direction. The original was very "90s action movie"; I would guess a remake would focus more on Eric's emotional suffering/journey.

One thing is for sure though, there's no way the soundtrack would be anywhere near as amazing. Even just having The Cure and a Joy Division cover for a project so heavily influenced by those two bands would have made it a classic. I suppose the remake could just use slowed-down/atmospheric cover versions as seems to be the trend today.
