Yah, lots of artists wanting to get some tours in after a few years of no or challenging touring. Not a surprise. Migrating back to the loathing modern ticket prices and dynamic pricing.

Dynamic pricing is so damn evil. Literally the definition of "Only tix to the highest bidders". I wonder what control, if any, artist have over that? When I bought my daughter Billie Eilish tix through her presale, we got 3rd row 1st level for $150 each on ticketmaster. When they went onsale to the public, seats many rows behind us were like $450 minimum, sometimes more, through ticketmaster as original priced tix.
I don't know if it was only the fan presale that had protected prices, or how that worked, but I wonder how much say artists have in this? And how much whether ticketmaster agrees depends on whether the artist is guaranteed to sell out or not?

Look at Garth Brooks' upcoming tour this as an example. All seats $84.00 and change, no platinum, no VIP, no dynamic pricing. And low TM fees to boot (7 bucks and change)
It's just a question of how much the artist wants to make off their fans, and most just cede control to Live Nation/Ticketmaster. A select few take care of their fans, Brooks chief amongst them. This weekend we rock Portland0 -

It would allow the promoter to pay a larger guarantee. Band makes more, promoter makes more, and TM makes more because the fees correlate to the price of the ticket.I don't think Foo Fighters uses dynamic pricing. It seems to vary by band.I did find it disheartening for the EV shows. Not that they used it, but how much of the venue was allocated to it. There was a never ending supply of tickets that kept getting added day after day. Had I know that I don't think I would of paid what I did for them on day 1. Hopefully it gets handled a bit better in the future.0 -
I clicked on Coheed & Cambria's presale just to see what the prices were, and was blown away that they are looking for $164 a ticket for seats. I expected maybe $75 for the best tickets. That's insane. I haven't even tried to see what Hall of Fame level bands are going for.0
