  • i liked "little wing" and "wont back down" at the gorge :)
angels dance on a pin head, just to make room for you and i....
  • kick out the jams and picture in a frame at brisbane 2
    sensational:)
  • The Boys Are Back In Town-Dublin.

I wasn't there, but from hearing it on the boot I can honestly say it's fookin' outstanding. A real one-off, unlike RIFW or Crazy Mary (which are still good, but it's nice to have a treat isn't it).

    I agree here.

Kinda depends on how many shows you were able to catch and how many boots you can afford too...

All Along The Watchtower from SF3.

TOUCHDOWN! Lee Renaldo from Sonic Youth adds a nice touch to the 2nd and last solo.

The Boys are Back in Town is intriguing, prolly gonna grab that boot.
Hawaii 78 is so totally perfect.
And yeah, next 2-3 boots I grab, one's gonna be Santa Barbara...

    And F'n A ... Little Wing from Gorge I
    [sic] happens

Run away my son. See it all. Oh see the world.
  • Imho...
"Picture in a frame" from Milan (I was there and it was soo beautiful...)
"All along the watchtower", from SF3 (one of the best versions of this great song)
"Little Wing", from Gorge 2 (why is this place so far from where I live? why?!?)
"Hawaii 78", from Honolulu (can't stop listening to it... wonderful)
    Roma
    Bologna, Verona, Milano, Torino, Pistoia
    London, Dusseldorf, Scheessel, Copenhagen
    New York, New York
    Rotterdam, Berlin, Manchester, London
    Dublin, Belfast, London, Venice
    Alpine Valley
Berlin I, Berlin II, Stockholm, Oslo, Copenhagen

  • Definitely "Little Wing". I was so thrilled to get this in Bern. "Picture in a Frame" is the weakest and most-overrated cover they've done in a long long time.

  • Hide your love away in Albany was one of Ed's better versions, and the beginning of a unique sequence of songs.

Another vote for the Boys Are Back In Town...and I'm not Irish either...shame they'd soundchecked it so the surprise was a bit spoiled.

I find Picture in a Frame soppy (and I'm a woman!) and not musically particularly interesting.

Hawaii 78 sounds great and must have been a real treat for the Hawaiians (but I don't know the original at all though so can't compare)
  • "waiting on a friend" was a nice surprise(thanks!) but what was also HOT was "it makes no difference" with ev and mmj...i was totally blown away after hearing that shit go down. those rick danko lines sung by ev was hauntingly good. they absolutely nailed it. the last waltz is the greatest dvd, eva.

if your gonna do a cover tune you gotta make it something.

kudos to those musicians that delivered that magic :)

Hawaii '78 then Little Wing Gorge Night 2.
E agora? Faz xixi na mão e deita fora!
  • "Harvest Moon" from Portland (w/ Sleater Kinney) is amazing.

This is such a beautiful song... practically begs to be played on a summer night, outside, sipping on something (ok, maybe winter is finally getting to me).

I was first introduced to this song via Cassandra Wilson (who is an AWESOME singer), though I do understand it's a Neil Young song.

Just for kicks, I uploaded her version to MegaUpload in case anyone wants to check it out. If you like it, I HIGHLY recommend her album New Moon Daughter. She also covers Love is Blindness on that album, which is pretty cool.
