Baseball is the last sport to put you in the hall for championships won. Lester was consistently very good, and probably very much indeed the best FA signing of the Cubs. But is no way a hall of famer.

What somewhat-contemporary pitchers are probably going to the Hall?
 Kershaw
 Mad Bum
 Verlander
 Scherzer
Greinke? Kluber? Sabathia? Sale? Then what?
They are going to have to induct somebody

Not sure about Lester...great pitcher for sure. He may get in towards the end of his eligibility, though.I LOVE MUSIC.

kershaw (dammit!), verlander, scherzer and, I guess, greinke. maybe sabbathia. without looking at the numbers, I don't think sale.
If I had known then what I know now...

I don’t know if CC should get in, but he will0

I think MadBum’s postseason performance gives him the edge over most other borderline guys. Elevated numbers and probably the best of this generation. Win total could drag him down.0
-
I think Bumgarner and Lester are both on the outside looking in, but MadBum is closer than Lester imo because he has the next 6, 7, 8 years to change that.0

yeah, except for right now he kinda sucks.Jearlpam0925 said:I think Bumgarner and Lester are both on the outside looking in, but MadBum is closer than Lester imo because he has the next 6, 7, 8 years to change that.If I had known then what I know now...

But at the end of the day I think the first ballot guys are: Kershaw, Verlander, Kershaw, Grienke. Also, I guess Grienke goes in as a Royal and Scherzer as a Nat? Talk about two dominant guys that have spent close to half their time as journeymen (using that term very, very loosely).
Now to some hot takes: Jimmy Rollins should be a HOFer, full stop.0

I think Grienke will go in as a Royal or Dback, Max will definitely go in as a Nat. Verlander (even though I'm an Astros fan, as you all know) should go in as a Tiger.Jearlpam0925 said:

The Hall of Fame is finally letting steroid users in knowingly. David Ortiz is the only one voted in this year

Wonder if Ortiz will announce at his induction ceremony that he found the people responsible for him testing positive.
 What a joke.0

 What a joke.
1 out of every 3 voters is a self righteous hypocrite. Sloppi was good but he’s a one tool DH, for god’s sake! If I had known then what I know now... If I had known then what I know now...

I just wonder how the “suspecteds” would have held up to two years of a dedicated newspaper probe and a $75 million federal/local investigation. If I had known then what I know now...
