Overall, as much he's recently kind of annoyed me (getting involved with the day-to-day ops, etc), I saw some stat where the Birds have the highest winning percentage and most playoff appearances in the division since Lurie bought the team. I personally think since the one constant is the owner and they kind of steer the overall ship I've always been pretty happy with him above all other Philly team ownerships.
Sure you saw Wulf's article this morning too. We do need to give Howie credit for putting some foundational pieces together the last couple drafts, despite some egregious mistakes.
I have not, but will have to check it out. I wouldn't say I'm trying to be intransigent on this issue, because I also think Howie is the main reason we won a Super Bowl, but I also think the whole house needed to be cleared (Wentz/Doug/Howie) and I kinda wanted this team to fail badly so the finger would be pointed directly and solely at him. I know that's terrible to say. So I will eat my shit and say....oh god....that Howie will be the one constant along with Lurie going forward.

I could be wrong but at one point in the last few years they had the 2nd most playoffs wins in the league this century behind only the Patriots.  Not sure if they have been passed on that.  Also I believe every coach Lurie has hired has made the playoffs at least once.

Roseman's issue has been his top picks have sucked but he has done a nice job with lower picks.  Getting a franchise left tackle in the 7th round is pretty amazing.   I don't think he is great but as said above he could be a lot worse.

Really the only years this franchise hasn't been competitive this century are the two years the offensive line has been decimated by injuries. Reid's last year and last season.

For sure, I was making a more broad statement. He definitely needs to keep his hands out of the draft (of course he won't though). But his strengths outweigh his weaknesses. He's so good at identifying draft position and pick value, contracts, trades, and (I'm assuming) valuing of prioritizing the O & D lines and QB position.

Hurts, Kelce, and Howard, at the very minimum shouldn't play at all in this game. Let's go Sudsy!

Edit: Ha, didn't realize Sudfeld wasn't on the team anymore. Let's go who ever the fuck is below Minshew, baby!

Do you think Giants fans will be mad at us for tanking again though? Maybe we should reconsider.

Are they really gonna play Dak? Maybe for a shot at a Divisional Round home game or something? Whatever.

Get ready for the Jalen Reagor show! I know, you can't contain your excitement.

I mean they can still get the 2 seed right? It's just hilarious that the Eagles are the ones resting more starters in this game.

Who do you guys want next week?

TB looks ripe for an upset with all those injuries/meltdowns but you've got the refs and their bogus penalties (and literally never calling anything on Gronk) and of course the Brady factor. But that sounds like the most fun at least. Of course we'll get that jerk Collinsworth in all likelihood, slobbering all over Brady for 3+ hours. Ugh.

Yeah gimme the Bucs. I saw something where, who knows, maybe the Birds go all the way due to every team they play is crushed by Covid infections lol

I'd say the the Rams. You want the worst QB against this defense and Stafford is the worst one of the possibilities. Although if you do play Dallas if they get behind the Cowboys choke factor is definitely in play.  Also it's possible LA would have no fans?  Not sure what the rules are but flipped on UCLA bball game last night and looked like no fans there.  Maybe that is just a PAC-12 or UCLA thing but I know they are talking about moving the Super Bowl out of LA because of the restrictions.  Don't want any part of Brady even if they are ripe for an upset.

while the game sucked I agree with not playing the starters, especially the offensive line. no need to play those guys.  I thought Dallas was dumb for playing Dak and their starters as long as they did.  What good came of that?

and I know I am going to get killed for this next comment from you guys here but...I didn't like Kelce playing 1 play to keep the streak alive. I think it cheapens the streak. Either play a whole series or not at all.  And yes Kelce deserves all the accolades in the world but to me that 1 play didn't sit right.  so go ahead...

and I hope the Birds don't get the Monday night playoff game. Would suck to have that game.

I understand where you're coming from but a Series may have been 2 more plays? Plus, why risk injury in a glorified exhibiton game?

I don't understand why Dalass played their Starters for that long either. Why risk injury?
