Any comments from Lauren Boebert yet? She’s a gem so I’m sure she’ll have a thoughtful comment or two, maybe a classy email fundraiser statement. Guess we need more guns, clearly there aren’t enough.Bentleyspop said:09/15/1998 & 09/16/1998, Mansfield, MA; 08/29/00 08/30/00, Mansfield, MA; 07/02/03, 07/03/03, Mansfield, MA; 09/28/04, 09/29/04, Boston, MA; 09/22/05, Halifax, NS; 05/24/06, 05/25/06, Boston, MA; 07/22/06, 07/23/06, Gorge, WA; 06/27/2008, Hartford; 06/28/08, 06/30/08, Mansfield; 08/18/2009, O2, London, UK; 10/30/09, 10/31/09, Philadelphia, PA; 05/15/10, Hartford, CT; 05/17/10, Boston, MA; 05/20/10, 05/21/10, NY, NY; 06/22/10, Dublin, IRE; 06/23/10, Northern Ireland; 09/03/11, 09/04/11, Alpine Valley, WI; 09/11/11, 09/12/11, Toronto, Ont; 09/14/11, Ottawa, Ont; 09/15/11, Hamilton, Ont; 07/02/2012, Prague, Czech Republic; 07/04/2012 & 07/05/2012, Berlin, Germany; 07/07/2012, Stockholm, Sweden; 09/30/2012, Missoula, MT; 07/16/2013, London, Ont; 07/19/2013, Chicago, IL; 10/15/2013 & 10/16/2013, Worcester, MA; 10/21/2013 & 10/22/2013, Philadelphia, PA; 10/25/2013, Hartford, CT; 11/29/2013, Portland, OR; 11/30/2013, Spokane, WA; 12/04/2013, Vancouver, BC; 12/06/2013, Seattle, WA; 10/03/2014, St. Louis. Melt them down and commission someone to make a custom steel body resonator. Major lose-lose from a monetary standpoint, but a small price to forever be deemed “responsible”.mcgruff10 said:I haven’t been to the range in forever. True true. Maybe keep one or two but the interest just isn't there anymore for me. The gun culture has definitely changed for the worse in my lifetime.gimmesometruth27 said:

From NYT covid's impact on kids.
More guns is the answer.Gun violence against children has increased, as part of a broader nationwide rise in crime. In Chicago, for example, 101 residents under age 20 were murdered last year, up from 76 in 2019. School shootings have also risen: The Washington Post counted 42 last year in the U.S., the most on record and up from 27 in 2019.

Only 27 school shootings in 2019? I could have sworn that people posted articles that stated there were school shootings every week.Halifax2TheMax said:From NYT covid's impact on kids.

27 is still bad but I'm pretty sure articles posted were stating otherwise.0 -

I think it depends on how "school shootings" are defined. If I recall, some folks here were contesting the numbers because some of the incidents happened on school grounds after class hours or on the weekend. Classifying, compiling and keeping statistics on firearms and firearm health impacts is something the NRA vehemently opposes. Its a slippery slope to coming to take your guns away.

Ban future AR15s. No one's assault weapon was seized after the 10 year ban went into effect. Can't begin to address root causes of issues unless you fully understand the problem. But we all know what the problem is, not enough firearms, including assault weapons, in the hands of "responsible" gun owners.tempo_n_groove said:

I don't think you have anything to worry about regarding access to firearms. There's plenty to go around and with 3D printing available and getting better, anyone will be able to make their own. Nobody is "coming to take your guns."tempo_n_groove said:

You don't understand gun laws then. You can't just make your own gun legally. You should have a class 3 machinists license then it has to be registered and have a serial number. If I got caught w an unmarked gun I would be nailed w a felony. I don't see why anyone would make one anyways?Halifax2TheMax said:
I don't think you have anything to worry about regarding access to firearms. There's plenty to go around and with 3D printing available and getting better, anyone will be able to make their own. Nobody is "coming to take your guns."tempo_n_groove said:
As long as I can buy or sell an old one I don't have a problem w this. I just want the right to own one.Halifax2TheMax said:
Ban future AR15s. No one's assault weapon was seized after the 10 year ban went into effect. Can't begin to address root causes of issues unless you fully understand the problem. But we all know what the problem is, not enough firearms, including assault weapons, in the hands of "responsible" gun owners.tempo_n_groove said:
If you want to ban the ar-15 isn't that taking your guns away?Halifax2TheMax said:I think it depends on how "school shootings" are defined.

Last time w the ban all it did was drive up prices for them. They weren't cheap before either.
I want to own something legally.
Also those 3d printed guns aren't up to snuff just yet. You won't be taking out zee Germans with one any time soon but it could happen.0 -
I didn’t say anything about it being legal or not, just that the capability exists. It’s another thing the NRA is against regulating because they think everyone Is “responsible” like you.tempo_n_groove said:

And ask the parents of the young woman killed with a 3D printed gun whether they’re effective or not or law enforcement agencies that are seeing more and more of them used in crimes. Like I said, in another way, your right to bear arms won’t be infringed.

To your last part, no, yes, depends. Can you do it? Yes. What kind of gun is it? Are you building a Moissin Nigant or an Ar-15? The AR you can not legally. Those serial numbers mean something once you add a firing pin. hand gun? Absolute no no.Halifax2TheMax said:

You can do these things yes but the ends don't justify the means if you get caught. It's just not worth it. I would talk to people about these things and always stated I wanted to be able to own a firearm legally. Sawing off the barrel of a shot gun or making my own gun was never something that excited me because of the consequences. Why do something illegally when u can do it legally.0
