    Watched it and loved every minute of it. Was in the stands for the 1-0 win over Costa Rica on Friday, was 32F that night. Seeing Canada on top of the CONCACAF final qualifying standings is pretty damn exciting. 
    One thing American and Canadian soccer fans can agree on is that Mexico losing is a good thing

    The Jamaica game was the inverse of the way this team has been playing. Started out hot and then the Jamaica goal sucked the life of out the team. 

    We were lucky to get out of there with a point, but it's still disappointing not to win that game.

    That has been Team USA's MO as far back as I can remember.  When their backs are against the wall though they shine though.  If they could harness that all the time they would be amazing.

    This Portugal-Italy situation is pretty wild. Assume Italy will make it but that would be insane if they didn’t

    With all the corruption in FIFA, you would think they would've rigged it so this didn't happen.

    Yeah qualifying for UEFA is brutal.  Would be 2 missed world cups in a row for Italy with a Euro title in the middle.  Wild.

    All the complaining about how it’s not fair that one of them isn’t going to make it was so stupid. Maybe if they had of played better and won games against all the lesser teams they played they wouldn’t be in this position.

    I don’t know about any complaining. I don’t disagree. I’m just saying it’s crazy. Have they played games since this? One looking more likely?

    When the draw came out lots of Twitter was in an uproar that it wasn’t fair. Basically Italy and Portugal both deserve to be in the World Cup on name alone. 

    The knockout tourney picks up in January and assuming they win their games they will face each other in the semifinals

    19 year old winger Alex Mighten switching to the US from England. Plays for Nottingham Forest and has represented England at every level from U15 to U20.

    I remember getting the tickets to this day. I was watching the same version of sportscenter, per usual, and my dad said just hit redial on the phone over and over to try to get tickets while you’re sitting there. It finally rang and we got a 5 game pack. Sold one first round game and the game without teams listed on the tickets was Bulgaria-Mexico. Two great teams at the time. Amazing memory and time

    John Brooks must have done something to really piss off Berhalter.  He had a couple rough games with the US recently but a guy that regularly starts in the Bundesliga isn't good enough to even make the roster???

    Also, scheduling these 2 upcoming home qualifiers in Ohio and Minnesota is absolutely absurd.  Especially Minnesota....it will be 0 degrees at game time.

    Brooks is having a horrible run at Wolfsburg. Got benched a few weeks ago and I don't think he's even come off the bench at all. Supposedly doesn't do any media that the team asks him to do either. 

    As for the games a few things went into the decisions. 1st to make it as miserable as possible for El Salvador and Honduras. 2nd to prepare the team as much for the game in Canada as possible. And 3rd travel. Cincinnati-->Hamilton-->St. Paul.
