Gonna have to watch today. I love Brooks, and find it rather sweet to have Super Dave’s brother on.
I had no idea whatsoever that Albert Brooks and Bob Einstein were brothers. Learn something every day…
It seems like I knew that at some point but totally forgot.
I thought the first episode was hilarious. He's still got it.

As a matter of fact, I actually thought Al Brooks was Mel Brooks' son.

He didn’t want to be known as Albert Einstein. Truth!

Anyone catch the Seinfeld reference in this week's episode?

I remember saying something at the time, but I can’t for the life of me remember what it was.
I only lasted like 15 minutes in this episode. Maybe I'll try again later. I've felt this way since season 9.....Larry's washed. When the show came back for seasons 10 and 11, of course I was excited. But I struggled getting through season 10 episodes, and these two have been pretty bad so far. It feels like everyone is phoning it in, the jokes are predictable, the storylines are contrived (like the blackmail to get that girl on his Netflix show), Leon hasn't offered anything since tricking Michael Richards in season 7. I liked the concept of Albert Brooks wanting a funeral before he's dead in the previous episode...but the premise was funnier than the execution.
Larry's a comedy god and his body of work in television is unparalleled. But listen to the bell, Grossbard, it tolls for thee.
I liked the premier episode but this one wasn't very good.....though I do like the Don Jr gag. lol
The reference lies in the name of the singer/actor they want for the lead on his show.
agreed...episode 2 was kind of lame until the end when the janitor thing was revealed....and Larry didn't even hear the dentist complaining

I would've never noticed it if you didn't point it out....but the singer's name is Dylan O'Brien. Dylan Murphy and Donald O'Brien were Jerry and George's aliases in The Limo.

Yeah, it's still good, but not as. As long as it's on, I will watch!

Well my mind is blown. Dylan Murphy is an actual human being. He's an actor/"musician" and was playing himself last week. Did anyone know this? I have never heard of him but saw a commercial the other day for some movie he's in with Taylor Swift. lol.
So maybe the reference was accidental? Or maybe Larry's sick mind planned this on purpose and (I like to think anyway) maybe didn't tell this Murphy kid of the Seinfeldian connection. Either way its interesting.

I think you mean Dylan O’Brien was playing himself last week. I never heard of him until I was watching the episode (that I still haven’t finished) but I googled him to see that he is in fact an actual actor/singer.

This is what gets me about Curb: I started watching this past Sunday’s episode and have yet to finish it. There’s been some funny stuff for sure, but it’s not close to the level of where it used to be. It feels almost like a chore to watch it.

Not what it was but it's still funnier than anything else on TV these days. Do they even make comedies anymore besides network TV garbage??
That's a good question. Doesn't seem to be many good TV comedies these days. Curb and It's Always Sunny are still going. And there were some great HBO comedies a few years back (Veep and Silicon Valley). But it doesn't seem like there's that many anymore. Other than that network TV crap you mentioned.

I haven't seen last nights episode yet but last weeks (Larry's driver, doctor's underwear issue) was absolutely the best one yet. Hilarious.
He's still cranking out hilarious stuff.

How about that Jay Remenschnieider becoming Mayor of Santa Monica? hahaha
Me too! Remember when she had a show on Fox in its early days? And she did a video for a McCartney song around that time too, I believe.
Yes. The Simpsons debuted on that show. I remember visiting my cousin who lives in LA, and he got us tickets to see her show. Matt Groening was there. She introduced him to the audience.
I also thought her show on HBO was very good as well. She does amazing characters.
