POLL- THE WEAKEST LINK: BEST SCARY MOVIE - ROUND 1

MedozKMedozK Tennessee Posts: 9,209
With this 'WEAKEST LINK' I decided to start on Halloween a "Scary Movie" theme and have you guys decide on the BEST SCARY MOVIE. I understand that many great scary / horror / thriller films, I just picked some of my favorites that came to mind. Most of the ones that came to mind are older, although I did throw in one fairly recent one. I wish our polls allowed for more than 10 choices. If you haven't seen all these take today to binge as many as you can. So, pick the film that you think is the WEAKEST LINK from the ones provided.   Again, thanks to everyone who plays.

Now to the 1st Round to determine the BEST SCARY MOVIE from the list provided.

You are going to pick the film that you think is the "Weakest Link" after 2 days I remove the two (2) movie with the most votes. We will then move on to ROUND 2.

    Psycho (1960)
I don’t recall Psycho scaring me all that much.

(also haven’t seen a handful of the others)

I actually liked the movie but I laughed at a lot of it, as well

I think age of first viewing is a primary factor in determining which is scariest. Apart from The Conjuring, I saw all these movies as a kid. Now, determining which is the best movie from a list of scary movies is something entirely different.

Agree - I likely would not have been laughing had I been 12 or something.

Is it meant to be scary?  I always think of it as a comedy/parody....but I haven't watched in years.

I have always thought of it as a Parody. I do like the way they killed the "Star" early, I guess as an homage to Psycho

Watched Psycho for the first time ever yesterday.
great movie. I think it would have been “scarier” if I had never heard anything about it in pop culture.
none the less, great thriller, must have been more impactful/groundbreaking  in its time

i consider it more of a slasher film than a comedy/paraody. (Like Friday the 13th). Now Scary movie that's a comedy/parody.

The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (1974)
I love every film on the list, but I don’t think that I find a single moment of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre scary.

More of a fun grindhouse gore fest.

In order to watch Dawn of the Dead (seen it only once, in my teens), I have to change my Netflix settings to Japan
