really hope its only a week or 2 old when it ships. Nothing worse than getting a 2 month old PA.

I'd love to order some, but can't based on the likelihood that this is 2 month old beer.  Hope I'm wrong and you all enjoy.

Seriously? You won't drink a beer that's more than 2 months old?
    Why? Or why not?

It's not that I won't.  I have plenty of 2+ month old beer in the fridge (some non-pale ales could be several months old).  For IPAs and APAs though, they start to get a little funky after about 2 months in my opinion.  I usually buy my 4 packs the week they're canned and I drink them within 30-60 days tops.  Just a personal preference. Hopefully these taste great still by the time they arrive.

Strange that they won't ship to Upstate NY, even though I have gotten deliveries from Tavour in the past.

The hops drop off. If you are brewing a beer thats supposed to be bright and fresh, the aged hops end up tasting coppery. I mean, I guess thats fine for a west coast style IPA, but for newer APAs (like this), you want that big bright citrus. after about 6-7 weeks a lot of Pale Ales drop off.

I work in the craft beer industry and I put this to a head brewer I know. He owns a a growing and very successful brewery. He won a medal at the GABF for his flagship hazy IPA. Here is his response to the need for "ultra fresh IPAs "....

"I'd say that they're being a little over the top. Typically, you've got some greenness and bitterness present right after you package hazies that tends to fall off after a couple weeks. If they're stored cold, i'd have no issue drinking IPAs up to and sometimes past 90 days. If they're stored warm, that's another situation altogether.

I'd just tell them that industry rule of thumb is that IPAs have a 90 to sometimes 120 day shelf life and lagers are up to 6 months. I like that people are checking dates, but something like this is being a little overzealous."

Another person in the industry said...."nothing wrong with being canning date focused, stress on canning date not brew date, but their leaving a lot on the shelf. Literally. "

Thats fair. I'm not militant about it. I don't require it to be less than 2 weeks old. And I do drink beer thats 2 months old. But I do notice the fall off after about 6-7 weeks after canning, but sometimes you get no choice from whats on the shelf. But my preference is week after canning to about 5-6 weeks after. Thats when I feel its at its peak.

This is for PAs and other light ales. Heavier/darker/sour beers IDC. Usually those are better after some time.

Yes, option to add 10 cans doesn’t seem to have an issue in the app.
