To keep us on the movie path I decided to go with one of my all-time favorite franchises 'ROCKY', so we can now discuss what we think is the BEST MOVIE IN THE ROCKY FRANCHISE. Pick the film that you think is the WEAKEST LINK from the ones provided. I do know there is a Creed III slated to be released in 2022, but we will have to see if that one stands up against these others.

Now to the FINAL FOUR and 3rd Round to determine the BEST MOVIE IN THE ROCKY FRANCHISE.

You are going to pick the film that you think is the "Weakest Link" after 2 days I remove the two (2) movie with the most votes. We will then move on to the finals.

    I love it so much but I think 3 is a little better.

    III is a pretty bad movie.
    IV is damn near unwatchable.

    Hey, I never said I didn't want Rocky Balboa to beat IV. I didn't campaign for it on purpose. Sometimes that works against you. I agree with you that it was the best bookend for the franchise.

    Looks like 4 has a pretty good lead to get cut here.  I have so many great memories from watching 3 and 4 with family and friends, they have such high entertainment value with the classic songs, crazy fights and 80's nostalgia I just can't eliminate them yet.  The original is far and away the best movie of the whole series though, by far.  Rocky 2 was a great follow up also.  It had, if not the best fight, the best fight ending.  It might also have the best training montage (though 4 was fun), from the point Adrian wakes up and says 'just win' and Mick following up with 'Well, what are we waiting for?' to segue into that training montage, gives me chills every time.

    That said, the time between the Rocky 1 flashback and fanfare intro to that moment right before training begins, the rest of the movie to me is pretty 'meh'.  The commercials?  Come on.  Rocky moping about?  Boring.  The zoo, the wedding, the pregnancy, everyone walking around depressed with Adrian in a coma, it's kind of a slog to get through.  I get it that's it has higher cinematic drama appeal than some of the cartoonish elements of 3/4, but it also lacks entertainment value and re-watchability (not a word, I know) for me.  I'll always stop what I'm doing to watch that last 30-45 minutes, but the rest, well, I have to vote it out at this point.

    People who voted against Rocky IV must not have grown up with the Cold War. Which was won, by Rocky, in this movie.  =)
