Never did it for me either. Not saying he’s not a great guitar player, but what I’ve heard from him is just kind of standard and basic. Maybe i’m wrong and somebody could post some songs that aren’t so refined.

Not really into him but his knowledge on guitars & amps is insane. He owns 40 Les Pauls from 1958-1960!! That's probably double what my house is worth!

Insanely talented.  He makes up his own notes, lol.

Love his guitar work, not so much on the singing.  The hair metal fan in me doesn't mind mindless solos if they fucking rock.

He's an amazing guitar technician, but he just doesn't have the soul of blues, to me.  He doesn't make me believe it like Buddy Guy does.
I don't want to make it about race, but he definitely feels like old white fuddy duddy blues to me.

Dude can play for sure and his albums are expertly recorded and produced. All of them. Lots of live releases available too.

While I wouldn't call myself a superfan, I do admire his talents and I think some of his albums are fantastic.

"A New Day Yesterday - Live" and  "Live at the Beacon Theater" are killer all the way through.

"ANDY-Live" is just him a bassist and a drummer. It's a solid power trio recorded live in a small bar in Ft. Wayne, IN. Definitely worth a listen, IMO. That album isn't super polished and clean like his studio recordings.

My Chiropractor turned me on to Bonamasso... or at least tired to.  He's a Bonamasso fanatic, seen him a bunch of times, etc.  JB has great chops and reading a bit of his website, he seems like a cool guy, but his music just never grabbed me.  I'm guessing I would enjoy hearing him talk or read what he has to say more than the music itself.
“The fear of death follows from the fear of life. A man [or woman] who lives fully is prepared to die at any time.”
Variously credited to Mark Twain or Edward Abbey.
