    I normally post about the Bills on a Bills message board, and also a sabres board I frequent.

    But yeah. Great to have an actual relevant/capable team after almost 20 years stuck in mediocrity.

    Still cant get used to rooting for a team who can convert on a 3rd and >10.  Or a sack or holding call doesnt automatically stall a drive.  Watching them drive down for a TD in like 5 plays to answer SF's first touchdown is something I'm not used to.

    lets assume the Bills stay in the 3 seed and Pats get 7... and assuming things kind of remain the way they are.

    Pats play Chiefs
    Bills play #6.
    Titans play #5

    Pats beat Chiefs
    Bills win
    doesnt matter who wins Titans vs #5

    Pats beat Steelers
    Bills beat Titans or #5

    Pats vs Bills, so its possible

    I think the Patriots could definitely make the playoffs, but it is a tough road.  Just did the playoff machine, and if they go 3-1 and the loss is to Buffalo, their playoff chances are only 23% based on all the other games.  If their 1 loss is to Miami, they only have a 9% chance.  Even if they just lose to the Rams and win the rest it is 28%... but if they win all 4 it is 93%.

    Not much of a gambler, but Bills +1.5 was free money last night, so had to take the dive.

    were the Bills that good at the time or was the AFC that bad?
    I remember some decent players, but were they a dominant team?

    They were pretty dominant. The offense (K-gun) was a fast paced semi no huddle that was tough to match up with and the defense had some great players like Bruce Smith & Darryl Talley.
    The NFC east however was the best division in football during that stretch, much like this year.

    It was a combination of those 2 things.  Plus there are many various tales of the Bills being partiers during Super Bowl week in the days before internet and smart phones.

    The Bills were pretty awesome.  The AFC was fairly poor outside of Miami, sometimes Denver, the Raiders, and Houston.  Early on, just before the 4 SB runs, Cleveland and Cincinnati were good (the Bills nearly made XXIII too).  We were in the midst of the NFC winning most Super Bowls over like 2 decades too and many of them were blowouts.

    They really should have pasted the Giants.  NY had a ball-control gameplan that kept the Bills off the field most of the game and the Bills' had a tackling weakness exposed.  They also failed to hand the ball to Thurman Thomas all game as he was unstoppable.  Belichick also was doing some gamey things like faking injuries and players sitting on a pile too long in order to halt the no-huddle offense.  

    Washington was a machine in 1991 and they were destined to win it.  Buffalo had a bit of a meltdown in that game and it should have been closer.

    The Cowboys in the final 2 Superbowls was a better team and much better built in the trenches.

    I actually do have a reason to root for buffalo....josh allen went to wyoming....wyoming is one of “my teams.”
